“If it wasn’t for the SAFO, I wouldn’t be where I am now.”

For Zoe, finding the right orthotic support has meant more than simply improving her walking. The SAFO provides the stability she needs while being comfortable and discreet enough to wear throughout the day, and, importantly, fits inside her riding boots.

Andy was back with us for another intensive rehabilitation session with his C-Brace.

After a few months away from the C-Brace while a new footplate was made, Andy is making great progress. Yesterday, he was able to continuously walk over the varied and uneven terrain around Windsor without his stick, a brilliant step towards his goal of maintaining his independence for as long as possible.

The changing terrain in Windsor was the perfect opportunity to challenge his walking, working on uneven ground, slopes, muscle balance and motor patterning 👏

Our patients recently spent the day at Scropton RDA, getting to know the horses and trying something different 🐴

They had the chance to learn how to groom the horses, find out more about how they’re cared for, help track them up, and of course get in the saddle and enjoy a ride!

As well as being a brilliant experience, horse riding can help with emotional regulation, confidence and independence, while also supporting balance, coordination and core strength 💫

Mel, who attended shared her thoughts on the day: “ [the horses] lifted my heart and made me realise I can do stuff that I’ve shield away from… I felt stronger mentally than I have for a good while.

A huge thank you to everyone for making the day so special 💙

Giving Prosthetic Legs a Second Life 🌍🦿

We’re proud to support Stand: We Walk Together and its Legs on Tour 2026 campaign, helping give unused prosthetic legs a second chance to make a difference.

Last week, we donated a collection of prosthetic legs that had already helped our patients here in the UK. Through STAND, they can now be refurbished and reused to support amputees across Africa, where access to prosthetic care can be limited.

A huge thank you to our patients who have generously donated their unused prostheses 💙

Tony’s been putting in the hard work following his osseointegration surgery, and these are just a few highlights from his first week of intensive rehabilitation.

Every exercise is focused on building the strength, balance and confidence he’ll need to get back to doing what he loves, including spending time on his boat.

This August, John Webber, a patient at our Ringwood Clinic, will set off from Plymouth on a 2,800-mile motorcycle journey across France, Spain and Portugal, riding for 28 days alongside his daughter, Zara.

For John, this journey is more than a ride. After surviving life-changing injuries in 2021, he is taking on this challenge as a powerful reminder that trauma does not get the final word. It represents resilience, recovery, and gratitude, while raising funds for the charities that supported him along the way:

The Bike Experience
National Association of Bikers with a Disability
Day One Trauma Support

After a life-changing cycling accident in the Peak District, James Goldsby (commonly known as Jim) had to adjust to life following a traumatic amputation. An active lifestyle was a huge part of who he was, and his focus quickly became finding a way back to movement and independence.

With specialist rehabilitation and prosthetic support, and guidance from his Case Manager, he gradually rebuilt his confidence and mobility. From early physiotherapy milestones through to walking longer distances with a prosthesis, progress came step by step, supported by a joined-up clinical team.

Today, Jim is back doing the things he loves, including walking, skiing, open-water swimming, and working in a way that fits around his new routine. Reflecting on his journey, Jim says “There is a life after this, you just have to try to remain as positive as possible. It’s all about having a positive mindset and stepping out of your comfort zone.”

We were also excited to attend the 2026 LimbPower Games at Stoke Mandeville Stadium this weekend.

It was wonderful to see so many adults with limb differences and amputations come together to try new sports, challenge themselves and enjoy the benefits of being part of such a supportive community. Whether attending for the first time or returning for another year, everyone had the opportunity to get involved and be apart of a fantastic weekend.
