Greens Aeration Work

We are currently carrying out essential aeration work on the greens.

If the tractor is on a green, please do not play to that green until the work has been completed.

This afternoon the club held its annual Cross Country Competition with 56 competitors tackling a new 9-hole course.

The winners were:

Best ladies: Daphne Ledger & Amanda Peirson with 21 points
Best men: Steve Morris & Dave Maude on countback with 24 points
Best mixed: Barbara & Steve Willis with 25 points

On Bank Holiday Monday, 30 ladies took part in the traditional Big O competition – 10 teams of three played a fun Tex-Mex format.

There was a bit of everything weather-wise – sunshine, a stiff breeze at times and, of course, a shower thrown in for good measure, but it didn’t spoil the fun.

This year’s Birthday Girls were Sheila Sadler, Elaine Wood and Mary-Ann Hyde.

Afterwards everyone went into the club house for birthday cake and w**e and as always there was plenty of loud chatter and laughter.

🥉 3rd – Sheila, Sue Kipling and Pauline.

⛳️ RGC Ladies Away Day to Saltburn

On Tuesday 46 ladies set off bright and early from Richmond Golf Club, bound for Saltburn Golf Club for what turned out to be a brilliant day both on and off the course.

The ladies played a team Texas Scramble, with some excellent scores – in fact, there wasn’t much separating the field, with scores ranging from just 52 to 60!

🥈 Mary Ann Hyde, Jenny Wong, Jane Scott & Fiona Gill

And at the other end of the leaderboard… Barbara Willis, Susan Gardner & Sheila Sadler, assisted by their trusty ghost player, took the honours for enjoying the lovely sea views.

There were plenty of other challenges throughout the day too:

The putting competition caused plenty of entertainment, with everyone having to putt at the sound of the whistle.

Afterwards, Saltburn Golf Club provided a delicious meal – with a bit of a hen-do theme as everyone celebrated the forthcoming weddings of our Lady Captain Claire Bateman to Lee Coward and Sue Stocks to her partner. 💍🥂

The fun continued on the journey home with songs on the coach and Claire attempting the Mr & Mrs Golf Quiz – with varying degrees of success! A special mention must surely go to the very patient coach driver!

Huge Congratulations to Vicky Mathers on becoming our new Vice Captain, who I’m sure will be a great asset to Nic Bailey during her tenure as Lady Captain.
