On Sat 11 Nov 17, 5 members of 3RHA RFC were selected to be part of a Gunners Rugby Team selected from Northern based units taking on an Infantry team at Kingston Park as part of the Newcastle Falcons Remembrance weekend fixture. Despite losing a close game 25-15, it was great occasion to be involved with.

3RHA RFC began their preparation for the 2017-8 season with a warm-up game against local side Ryton Rugby Union Football Club who kindly hosted the team for the evening. The match also served as a goodbye to stalwart Jordie O'Neil and the man-of-rugby-wisdom Bubba Norman.

The tour draws to a close with a game against the Fiji Navy at Albert Park in Suva, some cultural shows at Pacific Harbour Arts Village, and a visit to the Momi Bay Coastal Defences. Now for the long journey back to the UK. Thanks to all those that have helped us have an amazing 3 weeks in NZ & Fiji.

3RHA RFC played their first game of tour against Cordite XV, a combined Gunner and Armoured Corps team from the NZ Army. In a hugely physical encounter, the team played well but struggled to pe*****te a staunch opposition defence, ending up losing the game. A great experience, particularly facing the Haka and the traditional Powhiri after the match.
