The wait is over… football is BACK! 🙌⚽

Today we officially kick off another exciting season for Catterick Village Rose’s Girls Football! 💚❤️💙
This year we’re incredibly proud to have three girls’ teams taking to the pitch:
⚽ U11’s
⚽ U13’s
⚽ U15’s

Three teams, one club, and so many talented girls ready to learn, develop, compete and—most importantly—have fun! ❤️

From the first whistle to the final whistle, we’ll be cheering them on every step of the way. 👏📣

Here’s to new friendships, new challenges, plenty of goals, lots of smiles and making memories together! 🥰⚽

⚽ CALLING ALL YEAR 9 & 10 GIRLS! ⚽

​Are you ready to lace up your boots, make new mates, and have some fun on the pitch?

​Catterick Village Roses U15s are looking for new players to join us, we are currently in pre-season training with the season starting in September!

Whether you’ve played for years or have never kicked a ball before, all abilities are welcome.

​Here are the details:
​Who: Girls in School Year 9 & Year 10 (from Sept)

​When: Mondays & Wednesdays | 18:00 – 19:30

​Where: Catterick Village Sports Field

​Come along to a training session, give it a go, and be a part of the Roses family! 🌹✨

💙🩷 PROUD TO BE SISTER CLUBS! 🩷💙

We are absolutely delighted and incredibly proud to be a Sister Club of Durham Women FC for the 2026/2027 season! ⚽️🌹🐯

This is a fantastic opportunity for our girls section and something we are really excited to be part of. It’s about supporting each other, inspiring girls, developing talent and creating opportunities both on and off the pitch.

From our grassroots beginnings here at Catterick Village Roses, it means so much to be connected with a club like Durham Women and to share the same passion for growing the women’s and girls’ game. 💪🩷

🌹⚽️ ANOTHER MILESTONE FOR THE ROSES! ⚽️🌹

​What an incredible couple of weeks it has been for Catterick Village Roses!

For the very first time in our history, we stepped out onto the tournament circuit—and wow, did our girls make us proud.

​Here is a look back at two weekends of pure heart, determination, and brilliant football:

​🏆 Week 1: Killinghall Tournament

​Last week, both our Under 12s and Under 14s traveled to Killinghall for our tournament debut. Both teams played some fantastic football throughout, both teams ended playing in the Shield Semi-Finals! While luck wasn't on our side to push through to the finals, the girls set the standard for what was to come.

​🏆 Week 2: Wetherby Tournament

​This weekend, our Under 14s were back in action at Wetherby, and what a rollercoaster it was!

​The Semi-Final: A nail-biting match that went all the way to penalties... and the girls held their nerve to WIN and book their place in the final!
​The Final: A fierce, closely fought battle that ended 0-0 at the final whistle.

​The Shootout: Back to the penalty spot! It was deadlocked and completely even after the first set of penalties, taking us into sudden death. Sadly, it wasn't meant to be, and we just missed out on the trophy.

​To come away from our very first tournaments with semi-final runs and a spot in a final is a massive achievement. The growth, teamwork, and spirit these girls have shown is unbelievable.

​The future is incredibly bright for The Roses. Thank you to all the parents, coaches, and supporters who came along to cheer the girls on! 📣👏

Nominations are now open for The Bob Thornton Award & The Bob Thornton Youth Award for the 2025/26 season.

These awards, presented for the first time in 2024, have been named after Bob who has selflessly been there for Catterick Village JFC for almost 4 decades, and will be presented annually to the volunteers within the club that you feel deserve rewarding for all that they do for CVJFC, using the following criteria as a guideline towards your nomination:

** New or Existing volunteer that has made a positive impact within the club - This could be a coach, referee, admin or parent helper
** Selfless with the time they give up regularly to help inspire and encourage others to take part within the club
** Someone who continually provides a positive and safe environment for members of their squad and club
** Helps the club to continue having a positive reputation in both our local community and the leagues that we compete in
** Implemented a new/improved way for the club to offer more inclusion regardless of age, ability, gender
** Continually encourages throughout the club for other volunteers to come onboard - coaching, referee, admin role, committee role,
** Continually makes a positive impact on the lives of the young members within the club through positivity, continued self learning, motivation and behaviour
** Ensures that they keep their required FA qualifications in date where applicable, whilst enrolling in other learning opportunities, to continue providing a safe environment for those playing within the club
** Uses football to inspire positive change for children and adults within the club and community

Please take a few minutes and complete the online form (link below) to nominate your volunteer for this Club Award. Your nominations will be gratefully received and all nominees will be acknowledged prior to the winner being announced at our Presentation Day on Saturday 13th June 2026.

We thank Bob for allowing us to introduce this award in his name and for the help in choosing the style of trophy and the criteria guidelines as we look forward to seeing him present the award again this year.

And remember, our volunteers don’t get paid. This isn’t because they are worthless.
It is because they are PRICELESS!!!!!
