The Highly Coveted Time Magazine ran an interview with Ollie Richards yesterday.

Here are excerpts of the interview……

TM:
There is a rumour you have a five grand bet with the Manager over you reaching a 10 goal milestone for a CB?
Will you reach that without penalties?

⚽️
The rumours are true, we do have a little bet and I feel confident I will reach 10 with the amount of games left, but that’s not the overall goal, the team winning the league and a cup is always the main focus, if I can get goals along the way to help the team to success, well that’s a bonus. It was nice to get on the scoresheet on Sunday with a nice free kick and even better to see my CB partner do the same in the same game.

TM:
Have you ever been booked in your younger days for The now famous one worded bass boom “REF!!!” angry man moment call out?


Unfortunately I have been, on more than one occasion, but this is only ever passion for the game. I have tried my best to settle down in recent seasons but was also instructed to when my Mother came to watch me play ‘he is just a man doing his job and you are shouting at him”…..hey Mothers are always right but Refs aren’t 😁

TM:
Ok then Ollie, as we are close to the topic of intimidation on our last question ha ha, who is your choice for most intimidating player on Real Dundonald, answer as if you were an opponent please? Past or Present.


Hhhhm….. I’ll choose to stay with the present. I’d have to say our very own Mr Collymore 😁.

Media Mogul, Head of Media at Real Dundonald, Journalist, Writer, Poet and Television Personality Sir Ta**us Riley took his ‘own time out’ and decided to sit down with Real Dundonald’s number 16 Alex Phillips:

Sold to Real Dundonald in 2021 for a reputed €120 million euros as a Box to Box Midfielder, how are you finding your new role of late being partnered with The Club Great Ollie Richards at CB? It really hasn’t gone unnoticed, it is fair to say you two are keeping a tight ship?

⚽️Phillips:
It’s an honour to play alongside Ollie at CB, we compliment each other well…I’m always telling him how nice he smells and he often comments on how I style my hair 😁

How is your relationship with the Gaffer?

⚽️Phillips:
Don’t listen to what the others say, he’s ‘actually’ alright!! 😁😁

Going back to your previous question I’ve always told him I’m happy to play where required for this club…..but yeah the Gaffer has shown his loyalty to Real Dundonald when Robbie Earle’s approach to become Assistant Manager for Jamaica. He really does bleed RDFC!!!

Which player has surprised you the most this season? It’s been a decent start and contribution from everyone?

⚽️Phillips:
There’s been a few players that have surprised me this season. Big Cam up top is steadily growing into his body and becoming a nightmare for defenders. Ricky Trooper too….unfortunately he’s a nightmare for our defenders having to listen to him for 90 minutes!!!😁

Jokes aside!
It’s been a great start, really happy to be a part of this great squad and excited to see what we can achieve together!!!!

Journalist Beresford Hammond caught up with Real Dundonald striker Marcel Mesmain.

BH: The last time Real Dundonald won a trophy was 2018! Do you see Trophies coming soon with the squad which has now been assembled?

MM: Definitely I don’t see why not. We now have the strength and depth to do so. We have had a run of good results and morale is high.

BH: This Sunday’s Cup Game away to Ram FC, there is strong speculation that you will start as the main striker!! After not featuring as much as you’d like of late?

MM: There’s competition for places a lot more this season which is a huge positive. Firm should dictate who’s selected and currently those being selected are doing their jobs well. I will be ready when my chance arrives.

BH: Kimong-Longo enjoyed a MOTM performance yesterday, have you helped him settle in? Your appearance came on the 35th minute for the injured Barlow, it was you who was fouled after holding up the ball effectively, that infringement led to the all important third goal for Real Dundonald.

MM: Well deserved MOTM performance. He has settled in veryweek and took his chance. Should have been on the scoresheet to cap off a fine display. A welcome addition who gets on well with everyone. I was glad to be part of a positive transition of play which led to a goal, however this is only just the start and I’m sure I will provide many more important moments throughout what will be a long season ahead!

MOTM: Joel Kimong Longo

A very workmanlike display in awful conditions saw Real Dundonald progress to the second round of the competition (the cup which wasn’t won in 2018 after reaching The Final). An own goal and two fantastic free-kicks by both our centre backs was enough. Oliver Richards and Alex Phillips respectively.

United came out for the second with a steely determination. United scored on the 60th minute minute to get back into it. The momentum was with them for large parts of the second half to be fair, Substitute Marcel Mesmain won the free-kick which Phillips stepped up and scored with power from a good 30 yards out!!!!!!! 1-3.

United pulled another goal back late on but it wasn’t enough today.

Sir Bob was unavailable for comment but he will, no doubt, be happy with the continued winning run, although his men were not at their best today, an ugly win some might say, and no goals were scored from open play today which is unusual for Real Dundonald!

This being said Myers (starting in the number 10 role today) and left back Kimong Longo went very close with absolutely fabulous long range efforts!!!
