🏊‍♀️🔥 WHAT A WEEKEND FOR RICHMOND DALES ! 🔥🏊‍♂️

Our athletes were competing at THREE different competitions across the country this weekend, and we're incredibly proud of every swimmer who represented the club with such commitment, resilience and team spirit! 💙💛

🏆 British Masters Championships – Aberdeen

A huge congratulations to our Masters swimmers, Steffy and Ruth, who absolutely smashed it with a phenomenal lifetime best times across 4 out if 5 events! 👏👏

For Ruth, this was her very first experience of long course racing and she will certainly testify that it's a completely different challenge!
This is a national event with athletes competing against the best in the country. A huge congratulations to Steffy who managed a 4th place finish in the 50m Freestyle.🏊‍♀️💪

There was plenty of learning, lots of new experiences and so much to celebrate. We couldn't be prouder of both swimmers. 🌟

♿🏊 Para Swimming Competition – Alan Higgs Sports Centre, Coventry

Our Para swimmers did a fantastic job this weekend! The national Para swimming field continues to grow in both depth and quality, making competition tougher than ever, and our athletes rose brilliantly to the challenge. 💪🔥

A special shout-out goes to Amelia C, who, for a brief but glorious moment, became the British S7 100m Individual Medley Record Holder! 🇬🇧🏆 While the record was soon lowered again by one of Great Britain's Paralympians, these are exactly the kind of battles every athlete dreams of having. What an incredible achievement and memory to take away! 👏✨

Adding to the pressure, all of our Para swimmers had their classifications reviewed during the weekend. To compete so well whilst managing that additional stress shows tremendous maturity and determination. We are incredibly proud of every single one of them. ❤️

🏊‍♂️⚡ Team Steel Meet – Ponds Forge

Meanwhile, at Ponds Forge, our swimmers produced some excellent performances with great results across the board. There were plenty of positives, lots of lessons learned and valuable experience gained as we head towards the end of the season. 📈💪

A huge thank you to all of our coaches who gave up their weekend to support our athletes. Not only did they look after Richmond Dales swimmers, but in Coventry they also stepped in to support swimmers from several other clubs whose own coaches were unable to attend. That willingness to help others is something we're incredibly proud of. 💙💛

And of course, a massive thank you to our amazing Team Managers who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure our athletes were cared for and supported throughout the weekend. We simply couldn't do it without you! 🙏👏

As if Aberdeen and Coventry weren't enough, we also have a fantastic group of swimmers travelling to Ponds Forge International Sports Centre this weekend to compete at the Team Steel Meet.

🌟 A Busy Weekend for Richmond Dales Swimmers! 🌟

As well as our two amazing Masters swimmers competing in Aberdeen this weekend, we also have seven members of our Para Squad racing at the Activity Alliance British Junior Para Swimming Championships in Coventry.

All of our swimmers have had the added challenge of undergoing classification reviews ahead of the competition, bringing extra pressure to what is already a big weekend. The way they have approached this process has been a credit to themselves, their families and the club.

To qualify for and compete at a national championship is a fantastic achievement in itself. Each swimmer has worked incredibly hard, shown great determination and overcome challenges along the way to earn their place on the start blocks this weekend.

Whether they come home with personal bests, finals appearances, medals or simply valuable experience, we couldn't be prouder of what they have already achieved. We know they will represent Richmond Dales ASC with pride, courage and plenty of team spirit.

This weekend, we're proud to have two of our Masters swimmers representing the club at the British Masters Championships in Aberdeen.

Competing on the national stage is a fantastic achievement and a reflection of the dedication, commitment and passion they bring to training week after week. Masters swimming is about continually challenging yourself, setting new goals and proving that competitive swimming can be a lifelong journey.

Everyone at the club would like to wish both swimmers the very best of luck. Swim with confidence, trust the hard work you've put in, embrace the experience and enjoy every moment of racing. We know you'll represent the club with pride and determination.

🌟 Aquatics GB Summer Championships 2026 Qualifiers 🌟

A huge congratulations to our swimmers who have achieved qualification for the 2026 Aquatics GB Summer Championships!

To qualify for one of the country’s premier swimming events is a fantastic achievement and a reflection of the commitment, perseverance, and hard work shown throughout the season. Every training session, early morning, and race has contributed to this moment.

👏 A huge well done to Richmond Dales ASC coach Ben Gilchrist who last weekend attended the second weekend of the Yorkshire Swimming County Development Programme Camp! 🏊‍♂️

Ben joined a team of coaches supporting 36 of Yorkshire's most promising young swimmers through a programme of pool sessions, workshops, athlete development activities and mentoring opportunities.

A particular highlight of the camp was a visit from Olympic medallist James Wilby, who shared valuable insights from his journey in the sport and spoke with both swimmers and coaches about development, teamwork and leadership.

We're incredibly proud to see Ben recognised at this level and helping to inspire the next generation of swimmers. Well done, Ben! 👏💙💛
