We’re incredibly proud to announce that Rhigos RFC has been recognised by Chwaraeon RHCT / Sport RCT as an Accredited Club! 🎉👏
This is a fantastic achievement for everyone connected with our club and reflects the hard work, commitment and dedication of our players, coaches, volunteers, committee members and supporters 👏

Being recognised as an Accredited Club is something we can all be proud of and is a great reflection of the standards and values we strive for at Rhigos RFC.

What a few days its been for Rhigos RFC Juniors.
Saturday we saw 3 of our u10s play for the Cynon Valley Schools under 11’s Rugby Team.

● Sunday we had our u10s play their first official festival at Aberdare RFC Mini & Juniors.

● We also had our u7s move up from training games to official games this season also at Aberdare.
Both age groups having real successful days, setting the season up lovely.

● Monday to top it off we had our first Mini Axe session, seeing 13 kids come through the door aged between 3-5. All leaving with massive smiles on their faces.

● We don't want to stop there though. We would welcome any kids along to any of the above age groups.

● Also if there is any potential parents out there who is thinking, I'd like my son or daughter to play but we don't have the age group to suit, we would give you the support to set up a age group here at rhigos. You would need to be committed but there would be minimal amount of work to do off the field just mainly on the field.
You have plenty of support from both the junior committee and the main committee to get it up and running.
So if you fancy giving it a go and see yourself in black and amber please reach out.

This Sunday we welcome rhydyfelin to rhigos for our first home fixture of the season 🏉 💛 ⚫️

WOW, WOW AND WOW. The first Mini Axes session and boy it didn't disappoint.

13 Mini Axes turned up with more still to come.
The kids were amazing. They had a fun filled session full of laughter.

During the session they had a warm up, they had to run around picking up treasure (rugby balls) and get them back to their island. 🏴‍☠️ 🪙 💰

After a quick drink they moved on to learning one of the most important parts of the rugby game, how to score a try, we then put their speed to the test whilst doing it. 🏃‍♀️ 🏉

We then moved on to a action packed game of tag monster, the kids were running around collecting tags while the monsters (kids and coaches) were snatching them back 🤣

To finish the session the kids then took on the obstacle course designed around skill, balance, agility and hand eye coordination.

Its fair to say the kids love it and the parents had some tired kids going home.
Just before leaving they all earned themselves a mini axes certificate to take home with them. 🏅
Massive thanks to Jonathan Smith and Carys Smith for organising such a great session and taking this challenge on for our mini axes 🪓

There is limited space available as we do need to keep it controlled but if your interested please reach out to Jonathan or Carys for more information. If we get to full capacity which is 20 we will then start a waiting list.

A massive well done to our U10s, who also took part in the Aberdare RFC Mini & Juniors Festival yesterday! 🏉💙

This was their first step into their rucking journey 💪 and they certainly rose to the challenge!

Every single child played fantastically. The runs, the sidesteps and the tackles were absolutely amazing to watch. Most importantly, they showed brilliant teamwork, determination and courage throughout the day.

It was fantastic to see them putting into practice everything they've been learning and taking this next step in their rugby development.

A huge well done to every single player — you should all be incredibly proud of yourselves 💛🖤⚒️🏉

With the new season getting underway at the Aberdare Festival this Sunday, there’s never been a better time to get your child involved in rugby!

As the new school year begins, are you looking for something positive for your energetic child to get involved in?

We are also looking to recruit U7's and U8's to join our current U7's Team. This year the WRU fixtures for this age group are mixed therefore we can open our sessions to a wider group of children 🥳

What to expect: weekly, energetic, enjoyable training sessions on Wednesday's as well as fun, competitive games on Sunday's 🏉⚒️
