Cup Final misery in the Culcheth Champions Cup final 💔⚽
A proper tight game decided by one absolute worldie of a free kick — sometimes you’ve just got to hold your hands up and say fair play. The girls gave absolutely everything from first whistle to last and can walk away proud, even if it stings right now.
The journey to the final though? Different class. Dominant from start to finish. Team after team tried to stop this Irlam side and nobody could live with them. In fact, Hawarden were the ONLY club to score past JR all tournament… and even that took a free kick! Safe to say the defence and keeper had the shutters down all cup run 🧤🚫
As for Erin… wow 😮‍💨 Someone check the nets because she nearly ripped them apart with a couple of absolute screamers. Opposition keeper will probably still hear the ball flying past her tonight! 🚀

Losing a final by one goal hurts — no hiding from that. But finals aren’t reached by average teams, and this group has shown exactly what they’re about all tournament. Heads up, socks pulled up, and we go again.

Proud of every single one of them. Another final for Irlam and this team’s story is only just getting started 👏🔵⚪

Champions again! 🏆🌊
The crowds sing as Irlam bring the Bispham Cup back home from Blackpool once more. Kiss Me Quick, Hug Me Slowly hats flew through the air quicker than you can lose your 2p in the arcades as Tallulah coolly slotted home the winning penalty to send Chester Nomads packing down the promenade.
An unbeaten tournament from start to finish, with a massive win over CN Sports along the way, and every single girl putting in a shift worthy of fish, chips and a stick of rock.
And if it goes to penalties? Forget the donkeys on the beach — Jr turns into an absolute wall in goal. At this point, Irlam walking into a shootout is about as certain as Blackpool rain and seagulls stealing your chips. 💙⚽
The girls did us all proud. Bispham Cup champions again — and the tower might just need lighting blue tonight!

Proud of the girls today at the Airbus tournament. We had to fly home early, but what a start it was. Straight from kickoff, Liv smashed the bar and we stormed into the competition before taking a brilliant 1-0 lead.
As the heat kicked in and with low numbers in the squad, it became tough to keep up with the pace, but another hard-fought draw was enough to get us out of the group stage.
We were then drawn against the eventual tournament winners, a team who hadn’t conceded a single goal and had a goal difference of +15, so we knew it was going to be a massive challenge. Izzy managed to break through their defence, but unfortunately it came a little too late for us to mount the comeback before we had to catch that flight home.
Loads of positives to take from the day, plenty of character shown by every single player, and now onto next week… the girls are off to the seaside 🌊⚽

⚽️ Irlam 1 – 0 Haslingden ⚽️
With the weather making conditions difficult and the referee delayed arriving, the game kicked off later than expected — although in fairness, it gave Irlam a bit more time to wake up! 😅

From the first whistle, the girls looked solid and organised, making it nearly impossible for a very good Haslingden side to break through. Milz looked dangerous down the flanks throughout and delivered a menacing ball into the box that Chip Butty was there to turn home and bag the winner. ⚽🔥

Irlam were unlucky not to double the advantage, with Robin having the ball in the net on her debut, only for the flag to go up for offside.

A controlled performance from start to finish, with the girls showing great discipline, determination, and teamwork to secure another clean sheet and the win. 💪⚽
