The Under 9 Blues got their season off to a start. Not a competitive game but a friendly instead against a newly formed Thornaby Reds. Marske got off to a fast start and took an early lead, but they were soon pegged back by Thornaby fast counter attacking football backed up with great finishing.

The second half saw a much stable game with both teams playing some good attacking football, where both teams goalkeepers pulled of a string off saves. Thornaby edge the game in the end but a great start for Marske with another game under their belts.

Marske Athletic U16's 13-1 Newton Aycliffe Juniors U16'S

Marske Athletic U16's hosted Newton Aycliffe Juniors in our first game since being promoted Division 2. The boys were at it from minute 1 and controlled the game for long periods. We played some fantastic football, with flowing moves and well worked goals. Every one of the boys were excellent today and made important contributions. Well done!

The u10 boys kicked off their season away at a drenched Newton Aycliffe.

They started well and on the front foot creating chances only to be denied by a goalkeeper on top form and a defence that were fighting for every ball.

We were caught out from time to time with our high press however our GK was in fine form mopping up to recycle the ball.

The second half some of the passing, movement, finishing and voices were truly outstanding and the result ended in a positive one for our boys!

Every single player was a player of the match so that’s a big well done to Joseph M, Oscar H, Oscar M, Noah, Joseph A, Tommy, Isaac, Zach, Luca, George 🏆

Good luck to Newton Aycliffe for rest of the season, they are a great team.

Marske Athletic u12s take on local team Redcar Athletic Reds for their first game of the season.

These teams have played solidly against each other since the start of their footballing journey.

Atmosphere was perfect for the kids to enjoy their game from all parents, spectators, players and coaches.

Within the first 4 minutes Redcar take the lead leaving Marske on the backfoot. Marske pushed forward giving Noah his opportunity to equalise from an assist from Robbo. Both teams continued to battle in the first half.

Second half Redcar again take the lead. Few changes for Marske had them powering through to score a late equaliser again from Noah. At the full time whistle Redcar and Marske leave the pitch with a 2-2 draw and a very evenly matched game.

Brilliant game to start the season and blow the cobwebs away!

Marske player of the game goes to Joie on his debut. Joie is a great addition to our team and played brilliantly for his team.

Marske Athletic 7-2 Trimdon

The girls started their league campaign today with a great result and an equally impressive team performance.

An evenly contested opening saw both teams create chances but it was the home side who took the lead on 23 mins when Liv fired into an empty net, Marske further extended there lead with a further 3 goals in 4 mins from Phoebe, Evie & Macie to take a comfortable lead into half time.

The message at half time was simple, keep doing the same and don’t get complacent however it was the away side who started the better in the 2nd half getting 2 goals back to put the pressure on.

A few tactical changes to sure up at the back Marske managed to get the 5th goal which seemed to ease the nerves through Isabella and then added a further 2 late on through Macie to claim her hatrick.

Final score 7-2 win and a great start to the season.

Our u10 boys completed their preseason with a long trip to Barnard Castle to take on their u10 side.
With Lee and the travelling supporters on a touchline ban from using voices to give instructions it was left to all the lads to navigate through the game themselves using their own voices and to give each other advice, encouragement and support on the pitch, every single person was vocal and it was a very useful experience.
We played some great passing football and made sure we gave the full game the respect it deserved.
Big thank you and good look to Barnard Castle for the season they really showed a great attitude throughout.

Marske Athletic U16's took on local rivals Redcar Athletic in a friendly yesterday evening in soaking wet conditions.

The boys played some excellent football at times and it was great to see the calmness and composure when in possession. The rain definitely helped us move the ball well.

Our opponents kept us on our toes and they nearly took advantage of some indecision on a couple of occasions during a scrappy period for us towards the end of the first half.

That was the wake up call the boys needed and we certainly upped our game in the second half to take control of the game.

There was a brace for Fin C, a drilled strike from Max K and a debut strike for Joel L, as well as assists from Noah R, Fin C, Daniel L and Sam M.
