Hey Steppers and Striders! We've just launched our new fundraising challenge, and we'd love you to consider getting involved in some way 👏

We think this could be a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with your Step team or friends from your time in Latin America, and raise important support for Latin mission together.

Throughout the pandemic, Latin Link has served alongside individuals and families in some of Latin America’s worst-affected regions. For millions of people in these vulnerable communities, Covid-19 remains a serious threat.

And as part of our new North to South Community Challenge, you can raise vital funds to enable mission workers to share God's hope and provide practical care.

Our community challenge is to collectively cover a distance of 15,000km – equivalent to the length of Latin America, from Mexico to Chile. Could you help by contributing 15km, 150km, or even more?

You can walk, run, cycle, swim or even dance your way through the kilometres!

Lovely to hear from Stewart and Anna-Claire! We'd love you to keep praying for their Stride placement in Ecuador 👏🇪🇨

Meet Stewart and Anna-Claire - they're on a Stride placement in Ecuador! After completing an initial time of language studies in the capital, they'll soon be moving to the town of Shell to work at a day hospital run by the Christian Mission Health Foundation.⠀

“Although there have been trials due to the pandemic, we have really enjoyed our introduction to Ecuador. It is a beautiful country, with mountains, beaches, and jungle all within a bus journey away. The people have been so friendly, with a sense of humour that definitely makes us feel at home. We are really looking forward to taking the next step and moving to Shell where we will gradually start to work while continuing with the lifelong task of learning a language."⠀

When they arrive, Stewart will be working in the maintenance department of the local hospital and Anna-Claire will work as a doctor, after completing several exams to gain her medical licence in Ecuador.⠀

Let's keep praying for them both as they continue to develop their Spanish language skills, before moving on to the next phase of their Stride placement! 🙏

Just last week, Simon Howling returned to the UK after completing his two year Stride placement in Trinidad, Bolivia!

Simon was based at a community football programme, working with children and young people in the local area. He was also part of the leadership team in his church placement, serving in children’s, youth and outreach ministries.

🙏 Pray for Simon as he reflects on his time in Bolivia and makes decisions about his next steps!

Today's the day! Spanish Worship Night goes live on the Latin Link main page at 8PM. We'd love to see you there!

And why not share the event with your church, youth group, or CU? It's going to be a fantastic space to worship as one (in Spanish!), hear updates from mission workers in Latin America, and pray together.

2021 Step teams: Sadly, due to the continued impact of COVID-19 and its ongoing uncertainty, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the Spring team planned for next year.⠀

It's a disappointing decision, but we feel it is the right thing to do to keep our members, and the communities we work with, safe. ⠀
⠀
We very much hope to run our Summer Step teams in 2021, if it is safe and appropriate to do so. We’ll be bringing you more updates on this over the coming months.⠀
