Why We Chose Ryde

We have known for a very long time that our feet are critically important to our balance and posture on the ground. Yet, for some reason, many of us equestrians seem to think those simple biomechanics magically change the moment we get in the saddle.

Spoiler alert: they don't.

For years we searched for a stirrup that truly worked with the rider, rather than expecting the rider to adapt to it. Then, almost as if by magic, we discovered Ryde in Sweden.

Like every rider, we all come with our own collection of asymmetries, habits and little bits of wonkiness. (Go on, admit it — not one of us is perfectly symmetrical!) What amazed us was how Ryde's three simple adjustment points seemed to wave a magic wand over those imbalances. Suddenly we were riding in our balance, not compensating for ourselves through our horses.

One of the questions we hear all the time is:

"But will they work for me?"

The answer is a very easy yes.

The beauty of Ryde is that they aren't designed to force every rider into the same position. They are designed to work for you. Your body. Your asymmetries. Your way of moving.

Can they emulate other stirrups? Absolutely. But that's not really the point.

The point is that Ryde allows the stirrup to adapt to the rider, rather than the rider constantly adapting to the stirrup.

Yes, they do encourage weight to be carried through the ball of the foot, and for some riders that's a change. But time and time again the results are startlingly brilliant. Better balance. Better stability. Better symmetry. And perhaps most importantly, a horse that no longer has to carry the burden of our compensations.

I founded Absolute Equestrian Collective with a simple belief: exceptional performance starts with horse welfare.

Our mission is to bridge the gap between equine performance, nutrition, recovery, and rider education by bringing together carefully selected products, systems, and expertise that genuinely improve outcomes for both horse and rider.

Unlike traditional equestrian retailers, we do not focus on volume or trends. Every product, nutritional solution, and performance system within the Collective is chosen for a specific purpose, tested in real-world environments, and evaluated for its ability to support movement, comfort, recovery, and long-term wellbeing.

From advanced performance equipment and anatomical design to targeted nutritional support and recovery technologies, our approach is centred on helping horses perform at their highest potential while maintaining soundness, confidence, and longevity.

Winning is always special.

But sometimes the biggest victory is how you feel when you ride down the centre line.

After some time away from competition Nadine Murray returned to the arena wearing her stunning burgundy Lotus Romeo short tail jacket, perfectly paired with her matching KEP helmet.

Like many riders choosing something a little different, she wondered if it might be too bold.

As it turned out, the compliments came from fellow competitors, spectators and even the judge.

And yes, she won.

But what stayed with us most was what she said afterwards:

"There were a few tears of happiness."

Not because of the rosette.

Because she felt fabulous.

At Absolute Equestrian Collective, we believe performance isn't just about scores, movement or results.

Confidence matters too.

When a rider feels comfortable, confident and completely themselves, it changes the way they show up in the saddle.
