Girl of the Game: Savannah 🏆

Savannah put in another fantastic performance this morning, showing exactly why she is such an important part of the team. Playing in a number of different positions throughout the game, she adapted brilliantly and gave 110% no matter where she was asked to play. Her versatility, commitment, and positive attitude make her a real asset to the squad.

Her work rate both on and off the ball was outstanding, constantly supporting her teammates and being available whenever needed. Defensively, she was always willing to do the hard work, tracking back, making important challenges, and helping the team stay organised. At the same time, she was often the first player looking to drive the team forward, helping turn defence into attack and encouraging the girls to push on into dangerous areas.

Girl of the Game: Darcie 🏆

Darcie led by example today, showing fantastic determination, leadership, and commitment from the first whistle to the last. She was constantly looking to drive the team forward, working hard both on and off the ball, and setting the standard with her effort and attitude. Defensively, she was outstanding, making important tackles, winning challenges, and helping the team stay organised whenever they were under pressure.

Her bravery and resilience were on full display when she went in fearlessly for a header and received a kick to the head, yet still picked herself up and carried on battling for the team. That moment summed up her performance perfectly tough, committed, and never willing to give less than 100%.

A brilliant all round performance from Darcie, whose hard work, determination, and positive attitude were a huge influence on the team today.

Good to see the level the girls need to reach if they want to compete at the top next season, and today gave us a clear indication of that.

We started slowly and weren’t quite our usual selves, but we still competed well throughout. The second half was much more like the team we know full of battle, fight, energy, and determination. That performance is what we’re all about.

The biggest difference today was our finishing. We created so many chances across the squad and got ourselves into some really good positions, but we just couldn’t find that final touch when it mattered most. On another day, we could easily have come away with a very different result. It’s something we’ll continue to work on, but the positive is that we’re creating those opportunities consistently and getting players into dangerous areas.

That’s exactly why we play friendlies to see where we are, identify what we need to work on, and continue improving. There were plenty of positives to take from today, and the second half performance showed the character and standards we expect from this group.

A huge thank you to TSS for the new kit. The girls looked fantastic all kitted out and will wear the top with pride.

Another opportunity to show exactly who we are.

This weekend, we host Rochdale Fc in a 9v9 away fixture and we’re going all in. No holding back, no hesitation. Just full commitment from the first whistle to the last.

We play with passion. We play with resilience. And above everything, we play for each other.

Every training session, every challenge we’ve faced this season has led us here now it’s time to deliver on the pitch as one team.

Expect intensity. Expect determination. Expect a team that never gives up.

Two of our Falcons girls swapped their football boots for gymnastics leotards yesterday – not something they do very often!

Representing their schools at a local gymnastics competition at VGA, both girls put in fantastic performances and did their schools proud.

Darcie finished in an impressive 2nd place, while Myla secured a brilliant 3rd place overall. Their hard work, determination, and willingness to step outside their comfort zones certainly paid off.

It’s great to see our Falcons showing that they’re talented in more than just football. Whether it’s on the pitch or in the gymnastics hall, they continue to represent themselves, their schools, and the club brilliantly.

We can’t just play football we can do gymnastics too!

Four of the Falcons proudly represented Rossendale at the Lancashire Cross Country Finals on Wednesday at Marl Pits, competing against some of the best runners from across the county. With over 200 girls taking part, the standard of competition was incredibly high.

All four girls showed fantastic determination, resilience, and effort throughout their races, giving their very best from start to finish. Their commitment and positive attitude were a credit to both themselves and the club, and they should be extremely proud of their achievements.

A special congratulations goes to the Rossendale girl’s team, who were crowned District Champions, finishing 1st overall. This is a fantastic accomplishment and reflects the hard work and dedication of all the athletes involved.

Well done to everyone who took part and represented Rossendale fantastic and a wonderful achievement and a day to remember!

Girl of the Game – Ophelia

Ophelia came into the squad today and looked as though she had been part of the team from the very beginning. She was confident and composed on the ball, consistently making the right decisions whenever in possession.

Her work rate was outstanding, showing unbelievable energy to track back, win the ball back, and help the team defensively throughout the game. She also capped off an excellent performance by scoring a fantastic goal, which was fully deserved and highlighted the quality she showed throughout the match.

She made a real impact with her all-round display and contributed greatly to the team’s success. A fantastic first performance and a thoroughly deserved Girl of the Game award.

Player of the Match – Lottie

Playing at centre-back today, Lottie was rock solid whenever she was called upon. Defensively, she was strong, composed, and reliable throughout the game, helping to keep the opposition quiet.

She showed great confidence in possession, bringing the ball out from the back on numerous occasions with purpose and drive. Lottie was always looking to help the team move forward and even carried the ball forward herself on several impressive runs, demonstrating both confidence and determination.

Overall, it was a solid and assured performance from start to finish, making her award thoroughly deserved.

The girls started strongly from the first minute, putting the opposition under pressure and forcing them back into their own half. They played with great intent, getting the ball down and moving it forward effectively while making excellent use of the width of the pitch. Their teamwork and quality in possession were evident throughout the game, and several goals came as a result of some fantastic passing moves.

We were solid all over the pitch today. The goalkeeper had little to do for large periods but was excellent whenever called upon. Defensively, the team was organised, disciplined, and difficult to break down.

In midfield and out wide, the players controlled the game, worked tirelessly, and constantly caused problems for the opposition whenever they had the ball at their feet. Up front, the striker led the line brilliantly, pressing hard from the front and showing great composure and clinical finishing in front of goal.

Overall, it was an excellent team performance, with every player contributing to a well deserved result.
