Deeside Dragons Girls & Women’s Programme Announcement 🐉🏒
The Junior Dragons are proud to continue building and developing our Girls & Women’s pathway, and we’re excited to officially announce the leadership team that will help drive the programme forward both on and off the ice.
Women’s & Girls Programme Lead – Emma Pearson
We’re delighted to announce Emma Pearson as Programme Lead for the Junior Dragons Girls & Women’s programme.
Emma has already been doing a fantastic job leading our U16 Girls programme and now also takes on the role of Women’s Team Programme Lead. She brings a huge amount of playing experience to the club, having competed across the Women’s Premier League, Division 1, and NIHL levels with teams including Sheffield Shadows, Manchester Phoenix Women, and Widnes Wild Women.
Throughout her playing career, Emma has consistently produced strong offensive numbers and developed a deep understanding of the women’s game. Her experience, leadership, and passion for player development make her a huge asset to the programme as we continue to grow opportunities for female players within the club.
Alongside leading the Girls & Women’s pathway, Emma will continue supporting and assisting younger players across the Junior Dragons, helping inspire and develop the next generation of Dragons players.
Women’s Head Coach – Phil Pearson
We’re also delighted to officially announce Phil Pearson as Head Coach of the Junior Dragons Women’s Team.
Phil is no stranger to the women’s game, previously coaching Widnes Wild Women and bringing with him a wealth of experience from across the women’s hockey pathway. Alongside his coaching background, Phil enjoyed a long playing career as a goaltender with teams including Bradford Bulldogs, Widnes Wild, and Deeside Dragons, competing at high levels of British ice hockey throughout his career.
Phil is also a valued part of the Junior Dragons goalie programme, where he continues to help develop and support the next generation of netminders within the club.
His leadership, experience, and passion for developing players will be a huge asset as we continue building the Girls & Women’s programme at the Junior Dragons.
Assistant / Player Coach – Emma Dutton
Joining the coaching team is Emma Dutton, who has been appointed Assistant / Player Coach for the Junior Dragons Women’s Team.
Emma brings a wealth of experience both as a player and coach, having competed in the Women’s Premier League and Division 1 with teams including Flintshire Furies, Manchester Phoenix Women, and Widnes Wild Women. Across her playing career, Emma has consistently contributed offensively while also demonstrating outstanding leadership qualities on and off the ice.
Alongside her role with the Women’s team, Emma has also been coaching within the Junior Dragons programme, helping support and develop younger players across the club. Her commitment to player development and passion for growing the game make her a fantastic addition to the programme.
Team Manager – Katy Lennon
We’re also pleased to announce Katy Lennon as Team Manager for the Junior Dragons Women’s Team.
Katy is already heavily involved across many areas of the Junior Dragons programme and plays an important role behind the scenes in supporting the continued growth and development of the club. Her organisation, commitment, and dedication make her a fantastic addition to the Women’s leadership team.
Katy’s passion for the club and willingness to help across a variety of roles continue to make a huge positive impact throughout the Junior Dragons programme.
With a strong leadership group now in place, the future of the Junior Dragons Girls & Women’s programme continues to grow from strength to strength. We’re excited for the journey ahead and look forward to the positive impact Emma, Phil, Emma, and Katy will continue to make across the club. 🐉🏒
