Feeling incredibly proud of everyone in my small group community fitness class this week 🐣💛

Our Easter-themed session was about so much more than just a workout — it was about creating a safe space where everyone could show up as they are, work on themselves, build confidence, and reconnect with both their bodies and each other.

The support, encouragement, and positive energy in that room never goes unnoticed. And of course… we made sure to have plenty of fun along the way too!

This is what it’s all about 🙌

If you want, I can tweak the tone

🌟 MHEC Fest is Back for 2026! 🌟

We’re excited to announce that MHEC Fest is returning this year, and you’re invited! 🎉

📅 Saturday 18th April
📍 Beech Green Primary School, Gloucester
⏰ 10:00am – 1:00pm

Best of all… it’s completely FREE to attend.

MHEC Fest is all about creating a safe, supportive, and welcoming space where people can explore the powerful connection between mental health and exercise.

Many of us know that exercise is good for us, but starting — or sticking with it — can often feel difficult. Gym anxiety, low confidence, busy lives, and not knowing where to start can all become real barriers.

At MHEC Fest, we’ll be exploring:

The powerful links between exercise and mental health
The common barriers that stop so many of us from exercising
Practical ways to overcome those barriers

But that’s not all.

This year we’ll also be diving into something just as important — self-belief and self-awareness, and how regular exercise can have a huge impact on improving both.

Together we’ll explore how movement can help you:

Build confidence in yourself
Develop greater self-awareness
Improve resilience and mindset

Feel more comfortable and positive in your own skin

You’ll also take part in a short, fun and energising workout designed to help you experience the mental health benefits of exercise in a relaxed and supportive environment.

Whether you're new to exercise, returning after a break, or simply curious about the connection between movement and mental wellbeing, this event is for you.

Happy International Women’s Day! 💛

Today is a day to celebrate the strength, resilience, and individuality of women everywhere. It’s about recognising achievements, supporting equality, and reminding every woman and girl that their voice, wellbeing, and goals matter.

Strength doesn’t always look the same. Sometimes it’s pushing yourself in a workout, trying something new, building confidence, or simply showing up on the days it feels hardest. Sometimes strength is knowing when to rest, reset, and keep moving forward.

✨ Celebrating the Women in Our Community ✨

This International Women’s Day, we want to celebrate all the amazing women and young ladies who attend our classes and personal training sessions. Your dedication, positivity, and support for one another is what makes this community so special.

Whether you’re building strength, growing in confidence, or taking time to prioritise your health and wellbeing, we’re incredibly proud to be part of your journey.

Keep showing up for yourselves — you’re stronger than you think. 💛

💖 Happy Valentine’s Day! 💖

Last Wednesday marked our final session of this block, and we made it extra special with a Valentine’s theme ❤️

Each station was designed to show some love to a different part of the body — not for how it looks, but for what it does for us every single day.

Our bodies carry us, support us, get us through tough days, and celebrate the good ones with us too. That’s worth appreciating. Movement isn’t about punishment — it’s about gratitude, strength, and self-respect. 💪✨

Let this be your reminder: self-love and appreciation should always be a priority.
You deserve it.

We can’t wait to see you all in the next block starting 4th March — let’s keep showing up for ourselves together 💕

Around 18 months ago, Ross first started coming to classes with one clear goal: to build strength and confidence ahead of an upcoming hip operation. Every session was carefully adapted so she could move safely, feel supported, and still get exactly what she wanted from her workouts.

Today marks one year since her hip operation, and I couldn’t be prouder to say that Ross is still showing up every single week (aside from time off for surgery and initial recovery, of course!). She comes to class for no one but herself—and every week, she grows stronger, more confident, and more capable.

What makes it even more special is that class has become her social highlight of the week too, bringing that extra buzz, joy, and connection alongside the physical strength.

It’s been an absolute joy watching Ross transform, flourish, and continue to grow stronger in both body and spirit. So proud of you, Ross 💪💫

Can you believe it? That’s a wrap on our Move For You classes for 2025, and it’s officially time to slow things down, put the feet up, and soak up all the Christmas magic! 🎄❄️

What a year it’s been — full of movement, laughter, sweat, strength, and some truly incredible personal wins. Watching you show up for yourselves, build confidence, grow stronger (inside and out), and support one another has been the absolute highlight of my year. You are the heart of Move For You, and together you’ve created something so much more than just a fitness class — a community. 🌈💪

As we head into the festive season and prepare to welcome 2026, remember that the real magic of Christmas doesn’t live in the decorations or the lights — it lives in you. Believe in yourself, honour how far you’ve come, and carry that belief into the year ahead. ✨

Take this time to reflect on the past 12 months. Celebrate every win (big or small), learn from the challenges, and be proud of the effort you’ve put in. Progress isn’t always loud — sometimes it’s simply showing up, and that matters. 🎉🏆

Now it’s time for cosy nights, delicious food, and quality time with the people who fill your cup. 🍷🍗 Wishing you and your loved ones a very Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy New Year! 🎁🎉

✨ Our next block of classes kicks off on Tuesday, 7th January 2026 ✨
Spots will be open, energy will be high, and we’ll be ready to move into the new year together!

If you’ve been thinking about joining us, let this be your sign to prioritise you in 2026. Reach out, register, and come be part of something special. 💃🕺

Sending you all so much festive love, gratitude, and good vibes.
Merry Christmas and here’s to an amazing 2026! 🎅🎊💖

16/10/2025

Over the past few weeks, I’ve had the privilege of working closely with a number of young people, and one thing has become abundantly clear: we are often far kinder to others than we are to ourselves.

Many young people today carry an incredible weight of expectations — to achieve high grades, to fit in socially, to act a certain way, to always be “doing” or “achieving.” In the midst of all this pressure, there’s little space left for something we all deeply need: self-compassion.

Why Is Self-Compassion So Hard?

We live in a world that celebrates productivity, perfection, and comparison. Social media amplifies this by showing us the highlight reels of everyone else’s lives, while our own insecurities and struggles play out behind the scenes. It’s easy to internalise the belief that we must always be strong, successful, and in control — and that any misstep is a failure.

For young people especially, emotions can feel confusing and overwhelming. Many tell me they feel guilty for feeling sad, anxious, or uncertain — as if having difficult emotions means they’re “not coping well enough.” But emotions aren’t something to fix or fight; they’re something to feel and understand.

The Gift of Being Kind to Ourselves

Practicing self-compassion doesn’t mean ignoring our responsibilities or giving up on growth. It means treating ourselves with the same care, understanding, and patience we would offer a close friend who is struggling.

When we allow ourselves to acknowledge and accept what we’re feeling — without judgement — we open the door to healing and resilience. Research shows that self-compassion can reduce anxiety, increase motivation, and even strengthen our relationships. It helps us recover from setbacks more quickly and approach challenges with greater clarity and courage.

Taking a Moment to Pause

It’s okay to not have everything figured out. It’s okay to feel tired, lost, or overwhelmed. What matters is allowing yourself to pause, to breathe, and to remind yourself that being human means feeling — all of it.

So, take a moment today to be gentle with yourself. Reflect on what you’re feeling. Speak kindly to yourself. Remember: you are enough, just as you are.
