Everyone at the knows Ivan!

The Mexican maestro is a common fixture on weekday mornings with a jolly “Buenos Dias!” as he enters the gym. Kettlebells, bulgarian bags, and Pull-ups are his weapons of choice!

There are so many different ways to build strength, enjoy your training and to use your time wisely in the gym.

For our clients that work with in and - we are fortunate to have access to an insane amount of unique equipment that you will rarely find all in one place -

Plenty of conventional stuff

Well done to Sam for smashing his prep, and completion for the Spartan Super Race. Hard to recreate the cold and the mud in the gym environment - but many pull ups, rope climbs, loaded carries, sprints and grip work gets you prepared!

Shouldering a stone in his first ever strength competition - entered to test himself and have a good time. It doesn’t have to be any more complicated/meaningful than that.

Try new things, face new challenges and come out of the experience better for it!

The best exercise for you is going to be the one you enjoy the most and find easiest to progress. This will change! The same lifts over time get dull, stagnant and uninspiring. If you train to enrich your life - you will want to dig into some variations and keep the party going.

I used to love a deadlift - I probably haven’t done one as a specific exercise in a program for over a year. Other exercises took preference and worked for me better in that time.

I’m short - don’t allow yourself to get in a rut. Try new things, push them until they plateau, move on.

Everyone will benefit at getting stronger with awkward weight that doesn’t want to be picked up.

Life doesn’t come with convenient handles, evenly distributed weight and soft surfaces.

For some reason, people think shifting your entire bodyweight should be easy. The truth is, many find it difficult to build up to one quality rep. Over the years, we have built a method to acquire that first rep. It’s essentially a step of requirements you need to qualify yourself for before moving to the next, progressively tougher step.

It starts with being able to hang from a bar - it finishes with a pull up! There are many stages in between, but the point is - there is a clear path and pretty much everyone (yes, you!) should be seeking to do a pull up, or add more reps to what you already can do.

Over the years we have helped all shapes, sizes and abilities claim their first. No one has ever not had a big smile on their face from having this strength skill and building upon it!

It’s good to know your stuff. But it is more important to communicate.

Simplicity always prevails.

The typical client doesn’t care about this level of detail, they just want to squat - get stronger - have fun and be pain free. We like to know our stuff, but building strong coach/client relationships is what really gets the results.
