Dear all,
We are delighted to invite you to the official opening of our brand-new padel courts at Purley Sports Club! Join us for two action-packed days of padel, with activities for all skill levels. Whether you’re new to the sport or a seasoned player, this event has something for everyone.
Please note: With only two courts, spaces are limited to 16 per session, with a total of 48 spaces available for the introductory sessions on Saturday and 32 spaces on Sunday. Flora and I will be on-site to assist with equipment, and it's a great chance to purchase a racket. The Winning Margin is offering discounted prices on rackets, with a free tube of padel balls for every racket purchased. See the attached details for more information.
Padel Court Opening Weekend
12th and 13th October
Day 1 – 12th October
10:00 AM – 12:00 PM:
Organised Padel
Join us for a rolling, fun competition, open to everyone present, similar to a club session. No need to worry about specific numbers—just come down and play as much as you'd like!
12:00 PM – 3:00 PM:
Intro to Padel – Learn the Basics
These introductory sessions are perfect for beginners or anyone looking to sharpen their skills. Each session can host up to 16 people, with three separate 1-hour sessions:
12:00 PM – 1:00 PM
1:00 PM – 2:00 PM
2:00 PM – 3:00 PM
In total, 48 places are available on Saturday.
3:00 PM:
Official Court Opening – Ribbon Cutting
Join us for the official ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the opening of our brand-new padel courts.
3:00 PM – 4:30 PM:
Pro Match – Watch the Pros in Action
Don’t miss this thrilling showcase featuring top GB players Alfonso Patacho, Sam MacNeil, Nick Hatchett, and Chris Salisbury.
4:30 PM – 7:00 PM:
Opening Tournament
This fun and friendly tournament is open to members only. You can sign up via the Playtomic app. Join us on the courts to test your skills and enjoy some friendly competition!
Day 2 – 13th October
11:00 AM – 2:00 PM:
Organised Padel
Just like on Saturday, this will be a rolling competition, welcoming all players to jump in for some fun matches—no need to worry about numbers!
2:00 PM – 3:30 PM:
Pro Match – Another Showcase of the Pros
Missed the first pro match? Here’s another chance to watch high-level padel players in action, including Toby Bawden, Mat Worden, Louis Jarrold, and a special guest.
3:30 PM – 5:30 PM:
Intro to Padel – Learn the Basics
Two separate 1-hour sessions are available, with 16 spaces in each:

4:30 PM – 5:30 PM
In total, 32 places are available on Sunday.
This two-day event is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the arrival of padel at Purley Sports Club, connect with fellow members, and experience the excitement of this growing sport.
