Circuits

Circuits or HIIT should be a staple in everyones training regime, they can be tailored to any exercise, rep range & intensity.

This circuit would be excellent for football players, but can be done by anyone looking to improve their fitness, explosive & rotational power, speed & reactive movement.

The exercises are"

1. Airdyne bike or tornado bike.
2. Rotational wall ball slams
3. Pogo plyo jump to box jump.
4. Box sprints

I would reccomend 30 secs on 30 secs off for each exercise, rest for 2-3 minutes and go again. Aim for 3-5 sets depending on your fitness levels, times can also be tweaked.

My takeaways from the video.

• Concentrate on technical ability & positive decision making.

•Be patient, everyone develops at different times, situations & ages.

• Aggression & physicality come from within. You have to want it, with desire & motivation.

•Doing different sports such as martial arts & rugby can improve physicality, aggression & not being scared of close quarter conflict.

• Speed alone is genetic and has to be worked on regularly, or it can reduce within as much as a week!!

• Strength & resistance training can improve speed and is safe to do so for any age if done in the right manner.

Slam ball workout!!

A must for any athlete or gym goer, looking to improve their explosive power, no matter the sport you play!!⚽️🏀🎾🥊

These exercises are also great for improving mobility & reducing injury due to the difficult planes of motion the body is moving in, this is where a large majority of injuries occur from, change of direction, cutting, landing etc

There's more to getting faster & stronger than just lifting weights!! Have many strings to your bow to get that edge over the competition!!!

Sprinting in all forms should be a staple in any football programme/session. The large majority of a game is without the ball, so working on the different variables of sprinting such as linear, backwards, sideways, and changes of direction can really impact the player athletically and make the muscles, joints and tendons in the legs more robust. Here, we have Charlotte working on these sprinting variables mentioned in a shooting routine at the start of the session, where they are fresh & focused preparing the body for the tough session ahead!!

Excellent work yesterday from our client Kai!! A real technical player with bags of energy and a real willingness to learn. The theme of the session was close ball control at speed with a high tempo whilst working on timings/bending the runs.A really enjoyable session even in a monsoon😆⚽️💪
