Great to catch up with our cricket development officer, Lauren Burrow, from the Lancashire Cricket Foundation.

We talked her through how the club is growing - across all forms of the sport, the launch of our women's side and some of the work we've been doing at the ground including the new net facilities this year.

There was also plenty of talk of the future too, and how we can be supported to make improvements to the clubhouse, facilities and more in the years to come and in the short-term too.

It was good to be able to talk things through with Lauren and drawn on her experience and knowledge. Thanks for all at the GCC!

We've got some news to share deserving of a double thumbs up, thank you to everyone who came to Billy's Big Bash earlier this month.

The total raised from the day is a superb £3,671.20!

Chairman of Grimsargh Cricket Club, Phil Garlington, said: "Thank you to everyone who contributed to another amazing Billy's Big Bash, the fifth year we have brought our cricket club community together.

"I am always heartened by how each year there's such a great spirit, togetherness and shared memory created and with a nod to all those who help keep our club running too.

"The money raised will go towards the crucial work St Catherine's Hospice do, and in memory of former groundsman Chris Billington, and also to support what we do as a growing community cricket club too right here in Grimsargh. Thank you again for everyone who helps make the day the fantastic occasion it is."

A historic moment on The Green this evening, as our first ever women's competitive fixture took place with the Grimargh Cricket Club women's side taking on Whittle-le-Woods.

While the game ended in defeat it marks a crucial and successful step in the journey for everyone involved in establishing a women's cricket side for the GCC.

Well done and congratulations to everyone who has started training this year, joined in and been involved in establishing the team. Some great performances and two more games next week too.

And a huge thank you to coaches Owen and Dave who have been working with the team on the weekly sessions. 💚🏏👏

We've had fantastic support for Billy's Big Bash. A huge thank you to Sanderson Brothers, Benthom Developments, Framing Madness and Ayesha International for sponsoring a team in the men's tournament.

To SPAR for stocking us up for the BBQ and more along with Erdinger, and Haighton manor for providing ice, the BBQ itself and supplies.

And kind local businesses who put in raffle prizes including Alderbank Physiotheraphy, Animate, Haighton Manor, Preston North End, CVM Motors, Flower Bowl, Swim Central, Karma Beauty, Royal Oak golf, Pleasington Golf Club, and Lukeys Cricket.

Your generosity helped put on a fantastic community day at our cricket club and also raise some vital funds for St Catherine's Hospice too.
