TRANSFORMATION 👏

Here’s my Mum’s journey.

She’s been consistently attending classes at Ministry of Fitness for the last 4 years.

In that time she’s:

⚖️ Lost 40lbs of body fat
💪 Strength trained every week
🏃‍♀️ Kept up regular cardio through our classes
❤️ Become fitter, stronger and healthier

Before starting, she had high blood pressure and was at risk of developing further health problems. She made the choice to do something about it and start prioritising her health.

She’s also made changes to her nutrition and reduced how much alcohol she consumes each week, without having to completely cut out the things she enjoys.

Over the years she’s had periods in a small calorie deficit and periods eating around maintenance, which has made the whole process much more sustainable.

For most people, this is a far more realistic approach than constantly trying to diet.

There really isn’t much that needs to be said. The picture speaks for itself.

This hasn’t come from a quick fix or an extreme diet. It’s come from 4 years of consistently exercising, making better choices, getting stronger and making her health a priority.

I think you can clearly see just how much healthier she looks for it.

Consistency over time. That’s what gets results. 👏

I appreciate that life gets busy, and the last 10 weeks have definitely been busy for me and a lot of my clients too.

There have been trips away, weekends out and plenty going on, so routines haven’t always been perfect.

But me and most of my clients still find the time to get the plan done. Not because fitness has to take over your life, but because we know we feel better when we make time to look after ourselves.

Missing your sessions through the week because you’ve got a party at the weekend, or skipping your morning session because you’ve got something on that evening, sounds a bit silly when you say it out loud. Yet so many people do exactly that.

You don’t need to train every day or miss out on enjoying yourself.

Sometimes it’s simply about doing what you can, when you can, and keeping your health on the priority list ☑️

These aren’t things you need to apologise to your coach for.

They’re just some of the reasons progress can keep getting delayed.

Everyone gets stressed. The weather is bad. Motivation drops. Meals go off plan. The scale fluctuates.

The goal isn’t to be perfect. It’s to stop letting one difficult day turn into a difficult week, take responsibility and get back on track as quickly as possible.

That being said, I also firmly believe personal trainers have a responsibility to help find a way forward. We can’t just say, “Stop making excuses and follow the plan.”

Sometimes the real issue is that the plan doesn’t suit the person’s lifestyle, routine or current circumstances. A good coach should be able to recognise that, adjust the plan and make it more realistic to follow.

Accountability matters, but so does having a plan that actually works for you.

At what point did it become normal to not prioritise your health?

Your physical and mental health should be one of the biggest priorities in your life.

As personal trainers, I believe we have a responsibility to help educate people on realistic ways to improve their health. Ways that fit around real lives, real jobs, families and commitments.

And sometimes, yes, improving your health might mean changing the way you currently live slightly.

But thinking you can’t look after your health whilst going on holidays, seeing your friends and living your life to the fullest is EXACTLY what personal trainers are here for.

Life is for living. Life is for enjoying yourself.

You can do that whilst still looking after your health.

Because when you’re healthier, everybody benefits.

Your kids benefit.
Your partner benefits.
Your friends benefit.
Your work benefits.

Looking after yourself isn’t selfish.

Your health affects almost every area of your life, so start treating it like it matters.

Hard truth for someone

Most people don’t fail because they don’t know what to do.

They fail because they only do it when they feel like it.

When you’re motivated, it’s easy to train, hit your steps and eat well.

You don’t need to be perfect.

But you do need to be consistent!

20lbs down, 14cm off her waist, bodyweight pull-up achieved, full push-ups, and 130kg hip thrusts.

Alex has been a client with me for years now, and this is a perfect example of what proper long-term progress looks like.

She’s now 20lbs lighter than when she first started, and her waist is 14cm lower, which is around 5.5 inches down.

But this transformation is about far more than just scale weight.

Over the years, Alex has gone through different phases depending on what we needed to focus on at the time:

Fat loss phases
Performance-focused phases
Strength-focused phases
Muscle-building phases
Maintenance phases

And now, some of the biggest wins are performance-based too.

She can now do a bodyweight pull-up, full push-ups, and hip thrust 130kg.

That tells you a lot.

She hasn’t just lost weight.
She’s got stronger.
She’s built muscle.
She’s improved her body composition.
She’s built real ability.

And the best part is she’s done all of this training between MINISTRY OF FITNESS and Eclipse Health And Fitness | Gym

That’s the difference between simply “losing weight” and actually transforming your body.

A good transformation isn’t about crash dieting as hard as possible until the scale drops.

It’s about building a stronger body, improving shape, increasing confidence, learning how to train properly, and creating results that can actually be maintained.

No quick fix.
No all-or-nothing approach.
No magic plan.

Just structured training, sensible nutrition, proper coaching, and years of consistency.
