3rd Place Wrexhams Strongest Man 🥉👊

A big shift was put in today against some crazy strong open weight athletes. Very happy with my performance - giving me big confidence going into UK’s Strongest under 105 next week.

Some highlights
🥇 Husafell Carry 165kg. Don’t know how I made that second corner.
🥈 Press Medlay 120kg Log, 80kg DB, 130kg Axle
PB grind for the 5th rep of 160kg Stone

And that’s competition prep wrapped up. Big weights moved, plenty of work put in and feeling ready to compete 👊

Had to cut the final week short after popping a blood vessel in my eye, making me look like an extra from 28 days later but needed to let that heal up. Not the way I planned to finish but at least I know I’m pushing hard, eye and blood pressure all good.

Time to sharpen up, cut some weight and get after it 🏋️‍♂️💪

Adding some Olympic lifting back into the plan as Injuries are healing up

Using this complex as a warm up for my second press session of the week. Last 6 weeks of GPP and it’s back on the heavy weights 👊

Underrated gym injuries - dropping a BB on your thumb and having to detach and re stitch the nail back on. Last 3 pictures are gnarly so be warned.

Thumb may have abandoned me but I’m pushing in all areas I can. Didn’t quite realise how much your nail is involved with all aspects of grip.

Around 260kg is my limit for Deadlifts for the next few months, blood pressure making my hand feel like it’s going to explode so positioning focus on the big lifts and pushing a diet phase hard.

Looking forward to see what I can do with 1 hand 🙃😂.
