Sunday morning well spent. Aamusauna: morning movement in nature followed by a swim and sauna in amazing company.

Connection. That's what these sessions are all about. I'm in my natural habitat when I bring like minded people together. My favourite part is to observe the connections, the sharing and laughter.

Thank you / kiitos for the amazing setting and great löyly!

Next session takes place on Sunday 4 October 08:45-11:30. Book via www.anjayoga.co.uk/sauna (link in bio)

Ps. Sunglasses are not compulsory in a sauna 🤣

I see too often wellbeing practitioners post only about the positive and good stuff. And that's also wonderful, but it's not real life. Constant positivity gives a wrong idea of what real wellbeing looks like.

Real life is full of ups and downs, the mundane and every day, the sunny and rainy days. And it's not that someone like me who works as a yoga teacher has it all figured out and doesn't get down or have challenges in life. We all do! And stating anything else is quite frankly fake and a lie.

One of my main values in my business and personal life is authenticity. I'm not trying to sell some impossible to reach goal or a lifestyle that is free of challenges.

What the practices that I do every day and share through classes, workshops and retreats do:

💚 they support immensely during challenging times, helping you navigate through them with more gentleness and compassion

💚 they give perspective and a wider understanding of situations

💚 they help you understand your body better and what it is trying to tell you so you can respond in a way that is healing rather than damaging

💚 they help you ground yourself

💚 they give you an opportunity to ease tension and create space in the body and mind

💚 and like with me today, they helped me out of my fug!

Want to do a short practice to help you get out of a fug? Comment 'video' and I'll send you a link to one of my brand new practices from my members only video library.

It's a joy to record video practices that can help support your practice in so many ways.

Here are just a few benefits from my Home Retreat online community members:

🧡 you can practice from anywhere and even take the videos on holiday to create your own little wellbeing retreat

🧡 it's a great support to my weekly in person class. It means I can remind myself of the practices we did in class and have a more regular routine

🧡 I don't have the resources or ability to attend in person classes so I love that I can join practices from my home and have access to great yoga & qigong videos

🧡 it feels like you have one to one guidance. I really feel like you are speaking directly to me. The homely feel just adds to the energy in the classes.

Home Retreat membership is just £14 per month. Join for a 7 day free trial by using the link in bio. Comment 'Video' and I'll send you one of my new somatic videos direct to your inbox.

This week in classes, we have been exploring the element of earth, which is linked to late summer season.

This has included calming, grounding poses and fun, explorative balances.

I love this season when there is a feel of the earth breathing and preparing to let go, to release its fruit and gifts for us to harvest before the restful seasons of autumn and winter.

We humans in the Western world are terrible at slowing down for these seasons and I'm saying this with all the love, compassion and kindness in my heart. It is not a criticism, its a consequence of modern life and the disconnection to nature's rhythms and seasons.

Yes there are a lot of demands on us, I hear you, and it isn't possible to completely stop for the seasons, but maybe you can find some space in your days, some things you can let go of or ways to make your life less hectic. It can be something very simple.

But let's not rush ahead, we are still in the season of late summer. Season of abundance. Let's be present and aware of nature around us, especially focusing on the connection to earth.

This month, I have a few lovely grounding workshops for you to join to celebrate this season of late summer and earth energy:

🧡 Sunday 13 September 08:45-11:30. Aamusauna: morning movement in nature & Finnish sauna at niku-naku sauna Bala

🧡 Friday 18 September 16:00-19:00
Saunarauha: peaceful silent sauna & restorative yoga at niku-naku sauna Bala

🧡 Tuesday 22 September 18:00-19:30
Autumn equinox/ mabon celebration with meditation, movement and optional wild dip&sauna at Camp Plas Dolanog

I used to really think I could do it all! And whilst I enjoyed learning about IT, marketing, accounting and catering to name a few, a huge space opened up to me when I started accepting support. I say accepting because letting go of areas in my business felt really hard and asking for support felt even harder. But doing this enables me to fully focus on what I truly love- teaching yoga&qigong and share the practices that have helped me on my wellbeing journey.

I love collaborating with other teachers and guides and a big shout out to all my wonderful friends and colleagues, especially Melissa Monks Yoga & Holistic Nutrition Coaching
Emma Burrows Adrienne Hanson. Planted Wellbeing Yoga & Aromatherapy for being such amazing humans to work with.

On my retreats you often get to experience the teachings from another teacher or someone I collaborate with, which I believe enriches the experience. I also have some amazing people to help me with things like catering and IT now...

I always want to support other small businesses in what I do 💚

I love sharing longer, seasonal workshops.

You don't have to be a seasoned yogi or attend regular classes in order to join on a workshop or longer event.

These sessions give you an opportunity to pause and re-set. A lovely monthly ritual to take part in.

Direct links to all my September workshops are in bio. 🫶🏻

I look forward to welcoming you on one of my workshops soon!

Today's wanders in nature.

Sometimes it's easy forget what's on your doorstep. I went to pick up my Betty van from a nearby garage and intended to come straight home to do some work but instead, I decided to go for a walk and a wild dip in the nearby hills.

It was glorious and gave me a lot of clarity on what I want to offer this autumn. With this new fresh energy I'm able to be more present and put things on my schedule that align with what I feel connected to.

My yoga&hiking retreat next March is now half booked. If you'd like to join us in the beautiful mountains of Eryri, drop me a DM.

Finnish has a lot of sayings linked to nature and this is one of my favourites.

I'm a big advocate for authenticity and sharing kindness. There is a lot of darkness in this world and there will always be, but if we are kind to others, authentic to who we are and genuine, we can spread some of the message of kindness around the world.

And of course I love trees, I always head to seek answers in nature.

I have just sent out a newsletter about my autumn events and retreats - I'm focussing even more on my passion around nature connectivity and seasonal cycles, my Nordic heritage and creativity this autumn.

If you want to know more, DM me and I'll send you the latest newsletter!
