A frustrating afternoon sees our FA Cup journey come to an end at the Extra Preliminary Round, with the Romans falling to a 4-2 defeat against a strong Sawbridgeworth Town side.
With Scott missing nine first-team players and further disruption on the day, it was always going to be a difficult afternoon. Ultimately, four mistakes proved costly and at this level, you simply can’t afford to give teams those opportunities.
Tiba grabbed both of our goals, first heading home from Josh’s cross before a brilliant move involving Ade and Mark ended with Tiba producing a smart turn and finish to bring us level.
Despite the result, there were positives within the performance and plenty to build on as we turn our attention to next weekend.

“With 28 players signed on, it’s amazing that I could only name four substitutes, one of whom we signed the day before. I’ve never seen anything like it. However, I can deal with mistakes and, in parts, I was very happy with the performance, if not the result.”
Our FA Cup journey ends, but there’s no time to dwell on it.
