Portland United Youth U14s secured a hard-fought three points in a dramatic "game of two halves" against Blandford Harriers, narrowly escaping a relentless second-half comeback to finish 4-3 winners.

First Half: Portland in Control
The visitors started the match with clinical precision, dominating the opening period. Portland’s attacking play was too much for the Harriers to handle, as they carved through the defense to rack up four goals. Heading into the break with a commanding 4-1 lead, Portland looked certain to cruise toward a comfortable victory.

Second Half: The Harriers Fight Back
The momentum shifted entirely after the restart. Portland United appeared to "fall asleep," losing the intensity that had served them so well in the first half. Sensing an opening, Blandford Harriers refused to quit, throwing everything forward and scoring two quick goals to bring the game to 4-3.

The Closing Stages
The final fifteen minutes were a test of nerves for the Portland side. With Blandford piling on the pressure in search of an equalizer, Portland were forced to dig deep and defend their box. Despite the late onslaught, the visitors managed to hang on until the final whistle, breathless but relieved to take the win.

Match Report: Portland United Youth U14s Bounce Back with Dominant Victory

Portland United Youth U14s delivered a statement performance at Grove Corner today, putting last week’s disappointing defeat behind them with a clinical 6-2 victory over Lytchett Matravers Rangers. After a week of refocusing, the Portland squad showed incredible character, keeping their heads down and proving exactly what they are capable of when they play with confidence and discipline.

First Half
Portland started the brighter of the two sides, looking to assert dominance early on. The breakthrough came through Ted, who found the back of the net to settle any early nerves. Portland continued to press, and Max doubled the lead before the break, ensuring the hosts went into half-time with a comfortable 2-0 cushion and plenty of momentum.

Second Half
The second half was a high-scoring affair that kept the spectators on their toes. Lytchett Matravers pulled one back early to make it 2-1, briefly threatening a comeback. However, the goal of the game—and perhaps the season—restored Portland’s two-goal cushion. William spotted the keeper off his line and unleashed a sensational strike from just inside the opposition’s half that flew into the net to make it 3-1.

While Lytchett managed to grab a second goal later in the half, they had no answer for Portland's clinical finishing. Max took over the closing stages of the game, showcasing his poaching instincts to score three more goals, completing a personal haul of four and putting the result beyond any doubt.

The final whistle confirmed a 6-2 win, marking a perfect response from the Portland youngsters after a tough week.

Match Report: Portland vs. Football Academy Bournemouth

Portland delivered a commanding performance at Grove Corner, securing a comprehensive 5-0 victory over Football Academy Bournemouth. The home side remained disciplined and clinical from the first whistle, putting in a solid shift across the entire pitch to earn both the points and a hard-fought clean sheet.

First Half

Portland United Youth Dominate Dorchester Raiders in Goal Fest

Portland United Youth showcased a dominant performance today, securing a resounding 8-1 victory over Dorchester Raiders in their latest league fixture. The young Portland side proved too strong for their opponents, with an impressive display of attacking football.

Max was the star of the show for Portland, netting an incredible four goals to lead his team's charge. Not far behind, Josh contributed with a well-taken brace, adding two goals to the tally. Connor and Ted also got in on the act, each scoring a goal to complete the comprehensive win for Portland United Youth.

The Dorchester Raiders struggled to contain the relentless Portland attack and will be looking to regroup after this heavy defeat. Portland United Youth, however, will be delighted with their performance and the crucial three points gained in the league.

The boys changed it up tonight instead of football training they went into the gym.

Lytchett Matravers Rangers U14 2–3 Portland United Youth U14

Portland United Youth U14 produced a remarkable second-half turnaround to claim all three points with a dramatic 3–2 victory away at Lytchett Matravers Rangers in this league encounter.

The home side made the stronger start and capitalised on a disjointed Portland performance in the opening half. Portland struggled to find their shape and appeared slow out of the blocks, allowing Lytchett to take control. Consistent pressure down the left wing caused ongoing problems, and the hosts were rewarded with two first-half goals to take a deserved 2–0 lead into the break.

Match Report: Portland vs Shaftsbury Red

Portland produced an outstanding performance to secure a 9–0 victory over Shaftsbury Red in wet and windy conditions that tested both sides throughout the match.

From the opening whistle, Portland adapted well to the challenging weather, moving the ball with confidence and showing relentless energy. Their attacking play proved too much as they built pressure consistently and made it count in front of goal.

A special mention goes to Charlie and Oscar, who both scored their first-ever goals for the club, marking a proud moment for the players and the team. Their goals were met with huge celebrations and reflected the positive spirit within the squad.

Full credit must also go to Shaftsbury Red, who deserve recognition for travelling and competing in such tough conditions, showing commendable determination and sportsmanship until the final whistle.

Portland United Youth Sign Off 2025 With Six-Goal Thriller

Portland United Youth brought the curtain down on their 2025 campaign in emphatic fashion with a 6–3 away victory over Shaftesbury Reds in an entertaining final game of the year.

With their first-choice goalkeeper unavailable, Portland were forced into a late change between the posts, but the disruption did little to slow their attacking momentum. From the opening whistle, the visitors looked determined to end the season on a high, pressing high and moving the ball confidently across the pitch.

The standout performer was Max, who produced a superb hat-trick to spearhead Portland’s attack. His clinical finishing proved too much for the Shaftesbury defence and set the tone for a dominant attacking display.

Shaftesbury Reds showed plenty of fight and kept themselves in the contest, finding the net three times and testing Portland’s reshuffled defence. However, Portland’s sharp finishing and relentless forward play ultimately proved decisive as they pulled clear.

Despite conceding, Portland responded well to every setback, showing composure and maturity beyond their years. The goals were spread across the side, underlining a strong team performance and a positive sign for the club heading into the new year.

The final whistle confirmed a 6–3 win for Portland United Youth, ensuring they end 2025 on a high note and with plenty of optimism for the season ahead.
