The focus has shifted to angles, outfits, perfectly timed poses in perfectly aestheticised studios, and the essence of the practice is slipping away amongst all the noise. It’s breaking me and I’d imagine it’s breaking many other real teachers.
The 8 limbs were written as a guide for living and a way of meeting yourself with honesty. They ask us to move with intention rather than display.
A gentle reminder:
Yoga doesn’t need to be beautiful to be meaningful.
It doesn’t need to be impressive to be real.
It just needs to be practiced with sincerity and integrity.
