SATURDAY 13th June 💛🖤

Rushen United Las Mujeres are delighted to welcome former players from Blackpool Wren Rovers Ladies to Croit Lowey this Saturday for a special friendly celebrating women’s football 🫶

Over the years, Rushen and Blackpool met on four occasions, both in the Isle of Man and in Blackpool, with the most recent fixture taking place in 2005. Following Blackpool Wren Rovers Ladies’ merger with another club in 2017 to form Fleetwood Town Wrens Ladies FC, we are excited to reunite players from those memorable encounters, with former players from both clubs set to take part.

⚽️ Following the friendly, we will host a 7v7 festival featuring players from women’s teams across the Isle of Man 🇮🇲

📍 Croit Lowey
⚽️ Rushen v Blackpool KO 12pm (35mins each way)
⚽️ 7 v 7 friendlies from 1.45pm approx.
🍔 Burger van
☕️ Kitchen open for hot & cold drinks

Supporters are warmly invited to join us for what promises to be a fantastic afternoon celebrating the past, present and future of women’s football on the Isle of Man 🙌 ⚽

Last weekend we held our end-of-season training sessions and presentations for our junior divisions.

We were delighted to welcome Sandra Georgeson, Managing Director of Acclaim, proud sponsors of the Rushen United Girls’ Academy, who presented the Player of the Season and Coaches’ Player of the Season awards to our girls from U6s through to U14s.

A big thank you also to members of our men’s and women’s senior teams for attending and helping to present medals to the players — a fantastic way to celebrate the girls’ achievements and inspire the next generation.

With around 100 girls now involved in the academy, we’re incredibly excited about the future of girls’ football at Rushen United.

Last weekend we were proud to host the 3rd Annual Lisa Conley Memorial Girls’ Football Festival ⚽🖤💛

It was a fantastic weekend of football, friendship and community as we came together to celebrate the memory of someone who played such an important role in establishing the Rushen Girls Academy — something so many girls continue to benefit from today.

Across the weekend we welcomed around 200 girls from 8 teams across the island, and were even blessed with some amazing weather ☀️

Thank you to everyone who supported our bucket collections for Hospice Isle of Man 💜, as well as our fundraising efforts for Rushen Girls heading away for their first UK tournament next month 🫶

A huge thank you also goes to everyone in the Rushen football family who helped make the weekend possible, especially Donna Harrison and Noel Gill 🙌
