Join the Tirpentwys Trails Committee
Help shape the future of our community interest company and the long-term development of the trails.

Tirpentwys Trails CIC is seeking dedicated and motivated individuals to join our team. Whether you are a rider, a supporter of the local community, or simply someone who wants to contribute to a positive outdoor space, we welcome your interest.

We are currently recruiting for the following voluntary positions:

Treasurer – Oversee and manage the organisation’s finances, supporting our efforts toward official recognition and long-term sustainability.

Social Media Personnel – Lead our online communications, working closely alongside Jason, our Director, to keep the community informed and engaged.

Fundraiser – Play a key role in securing grants, sponsorships, and financial support to help us maintain and improve the trails.

We are also looking for additional general committee members who wish to be involved in decision-making, planning, and supporting the continued growth of the organisation.

Tirpentwys Trails in Pontypool are currently unofficial mountain bike trails, built and maintained by a dedicated team of riders. Our committee includes both riders and non-riders who work together to support the project. Our ongoing mission is to honour the work and legacy of our founder, Ryan Bullimore, by continuing to care for the trails and working towards achieving planning permission so they can become an officially recognised and sustainable asset for the community.

If you are interested in any of the above roles or would like more information, please get in touch via [email protected].
We look forward to welcoming new members who share our passion and vision for Tirpentwys Trails.

Hi everyone, we’re looking for a local builder or surveying partner who can help us gather accurate site elevations for a planning submission.

Context:
Our LiDAR data currently yields 2m contour accuracy, which isn’t sufficient for site-level planning.
We need precise points along the highway, down the track, across the site, and at several ditch levels.
If you or anyone you know could help us with the please could you ask them to PM us.

WE DID IT! Tirpentwys is SAFE! (For Now)

From the very bottom of our hearts, thank you. Thank you to every single person who donated, who shared our plea, and who sent messages of support. We have been left completely speechless.

Because of you, we have absolutely SMASHED our fundraising target. We are utterly blown away by your support and generosity. This means that Tirpentwys Trails C.I.C. will NOT have to close down this year. The threat of immediate bankruptcy has gone, and our operations into next year has been secured.
We know for a fact that Ryan would be so incredibly stoked if he could see the community that has rallied around the trails he poured his heart into. To know that his passion has had such an impact on so many people is the greatest tribute we could ever imagine.

Your generosity means we are still in the fight. This victory gives us the security we need to continue our work to get full planning permission and remove the threat of closure for good.

We are more determined than ever to work with our amazing community to keep these trails alive, to support our incredible local riders, and to help make Pontypool a must-visit destination for riders from all over the country.

For now, let's celebrate this incredible win.
You saved the trails.

Thank you.

Jason Bullimore.

THEY WILL BULLDOZE RYAN'S LEGACY. We have until 31st December to save Tirpentwys Trails forever. This is an emergency.

This isn't just about trails. This is about a promise. When Ryan Bullimore poured his heart and soul into the Welsh hillside, he wasn't just building jumps; he was building a community. This place was his life's passion, a legacy tragically sealed on the very tracks he loved.

For years, we, the volunteers, have honoured his memory with thousands of hours of unpaid work. Our success, the very thing that made this place so special, attracted official attention and with it, a mountain of soul-crushing red tape. To survive, we were forced to pay for thousands of pounds worth of reports and surveys, and it has wiped us out. We now face a final, non-negotiable shortfall of £3,500, and we have until 31st December to find it.

Let us be absolutely clear. If we fail, this isn't a setback. It is the end. The C.I.C. will be forced to dissolve, and the trails—every berm, every jump that Ryan dreamed of—will be flattened by bulldozers. Ryan's legacy will be physically erased from the hillside. For good.

Over 480 of you have donated before to get us this far, and we are eternally grateful. Now, everything we have built together is on the line. We have fought as hard as we can; now, only you can stop this from happening. To close this final, devastating gap, we need 140 people to become heroes today and donate £25 to fund the last reports and save the trails.

Every second counts. The bulldozers are waiting. Your donation is the only thing standing in their way. Please, click the link below to donate NOW and be the hero that saves Ryan's legacy.

Thank you all.

📣 HUGE NEWS & AN URGENT PLEA FOR YOUR HELP! 📣

We've done it! After an incredibly long and demanding process, we have just submitted the final, additional set of reports and surveys to support our major planning application update to make Tirpentwys Trails official! 🎉

This is the biggest step we have ever taken to secure the future of the trails, honour the legacy of Ryan Bullimore , and create a sustainable, world-class facility for our entire community. This moment has been built on the back of more than 2,000 hours of volunteer work and a 'No dig, No ride' philosophy.

But we have to be honest with you all. Getting this far has pushed us to the absolute financial brink. This ‘Major’ planning application has been incredibly expensive. The latest submission to the council cost £545, on top of several thousands of pounds for crucial ecological and tree surveys that were required by the Planning Office.

Right now, every single penny of the C.I.C.'s funds has been spent on getting this planning permission over the line.

🚨 THIS IS AN EMERGENCY FOR TIRPENTWYS. 🚨

We are now facing a catastrophic financial crisis. We project a £5,000 shortfall by the end of December. Without your urgent help, the C.I.C. will not be able to continue. The trails we have all poured our hearts and souls into could be lost. For good.

We have never needed our community more than we do right now.

Every pound makes a direct difference and takes us one step closer to survival and securing the future of this incredible place. Please, if you love these trails, if you believe in what we're building for Pontypool and the wider riding community, help us cross this final, crucial hurdle.

If you are a local business owner and want to support or sponsor Tirpentwys Trails then please get in touch.

It’s fantastic to see so many young riders out enjoying the sunshine ☀️ and freedom of the trails during the school holidays! This place was hand-crafted by a passionate community for everyone to enjoy, and it’s a joy to see it being used. ❤️🙌

As you pack the kids' bags 🎒 for a day on the hill, you can play a huge part in helping us protect this special place. A quick chat about the "Pack It In, Pack It Out" rule can make all the difference. Every food wrapper 🍫 and drink bottle 🥤 that comes back home in their backpack is a massive win for our environment and our volunteers. 🌱👍

Remember, our trail crew are all unpaid volunteers. The less time they spend picking up litter 🚮, the more time they can dedicate to maintaining the trails and building the features everyone loves. 🛠️✨

Thank you for helping us raise a generation of riders who respect the hill. 🙏🌳
