Yesterday, Pontardawe Squash Club came together to host a two tier knockout tournament in memory of Kevin Williams, brother to Ponty’s own, Richard Williams.
It was a day of squash, but more importantly, a day of remembering Kevin, sharing stories, supporting one another, and reflecting on the friendships that make our club so special.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who took part, whether you played, came along to support, or helped behind the scenes. The kindness, sportsmanship, and sense of togetherness shown throughout the day made it a truly meaningful occasion.
A special thank you to Scott Lawrence for his thoughtful suggestion to put on such an occasion, and to Adam Williams, James Williams and Steph Evans who gave their time to organise the tournament. Your hard work and thoughtfulness made it possible for us all to come together and honour Kevin’s memory in such a fitting way.
Days like yesterday remind us that our club is about so much more than the game itself. It’s about friendship, community, and being there for one another through both the good times and the difficult ones.
Congratulations to Joseph Breach on winning the Cup and to Jason Bennett on winning the Plate. Well played to everyone who took part, and thank you all for making yesterday such a special tribute to Kevin ❤️
