Pocklington Town Ladies 5 - 2 Howden Ladies ⚽️🔥

Pocklington Town Ladies put on an impressive display to claim a 5-2 victory over Howden Ladies in an exciting encounter at home. The match saw a solid team performance, with goals coming from five different players, highlighting the depth and versatility of the squad.

Sophie C opened the scoring early in the match, giving Pocklington the perfect start. Howden responded with two back to back goals making it 1-2. C’s header from a Pocklington corner made it 2-2 just before half time.

After the break, Pocklington’s attacking play was fluid and clinical, while their defense stood firm when needed. Second half goals from Sophie A, Emma N and Daniela made it 5-2.

Momentum continues …

Pocklington Town Ladies returned to 2025 with a ruthless performance, securing an emphatic 9-2 victory over Driffield Ladies. The match was played in difficult conditions, with heavy rain and gusty winds making for a challenging afternoon at the pitch. However, the weather couldn’t dampen the spirits of the Pocklington squad, who were relentless from the start.

Emma Nelson and Daniela Millar each scoring four goals apiece. Emma’s pace and finishing ability were evident as she clinically converted a series of crosses and through balls, while Daniella’s clinical nature in front of goal ensured that Driffield had no answer to her sharp movements and clinical shots.

Sophie Arnold continued her goalscoring form by scoring whilst also providing multiple assists in a doninant and consistent performance.

The final scoreline of 9-2 reflected the gulf in class between the two sides on the day, with Pocklington's attacking prowess and clinical finishing leaving Driffield with little chance.

With this dominant display, Pocklington Town Ladies will look to carry this momentum forward into their upcoming fixtures.

Credit to the team yesterday, as we had no substitutes, two players removed from the second half during to the cold and illness and adapted to difficult circumstances.

Full time - Brandesburton 1 - 2 Pocklington Town Ladies.

The final game of 2024 finished with a smash and grab away win at Brandesburton. With several players missing and having no game for three weeks, the away trip to Brandesburton proved a tough challenge.

Daniella Millar continued her goalscoring form, making it 1-0 to Pocklington with a left footed finish into the top right corner from distance.

Brandesburton reacted strong, equalising just before half time.

Pocklington showed a strong defesive mentality throughout the second half. Emma Nelson’s late effort hit the bottom right corner giving Pocklington all 3 points.

The Ladies would like to thank you for the continued support and we look forward to seeing you in 2025. We go again👍👌

Pocklington u14 Pythons vs North Yorkshire SA u14

A long drive on a sunny but cold morning. An early goal at the 3 minute mark saw the opposition take the lead but Pock held their own.
Kara scored her first goal of the season after 17 minutes. Very proud moment for coaches after seeing her potential all season.
Not to let it slide North Yorkshire were consistent in attacking the ball and winning possession, which lead to 3 more goals in quick succession.

Half time score 4-1

At half time we had to tell the girls to get their game faces on and dig deep and be more vocal.

Going into the second half initially Pock seemed more focused but some soft goals from the opposition saw our girls heads drop.

Laura managed to score another 2 but the final score 7-3.

As coaches we can tell days when the girls heads are just not in the game. They're a great bunch of girls but just need to be a bit more aggressive a bit more forceful on the tackles and more strong when kicking a ball away.

Coaches player of the match Izzy M a new player to our team, some fantastic defensive work and chasing after the ball, she didn't stop all game.

Captains player Rose some great tackles today. Twice from the floor she didn't give up that ball.

Match Report Pocklington u14 Pythons vs Scarborough u14s

Well what can I say about today's match it was touch and go whether it'd be on thanks to storm Darragh but being the resilient team we are we pushed ahead.

Scarborough are the top team of the division undefeated so we knew we were in for a tough match, 4 minutes in and they had scored a goal a minute things weren't looking good, but at 8 minutes a blinding goal by Laura hit the back of the net.

Scarborough kept up their pace and scored three more before half time, but super forward Laura managed to get 2 more of her own.

Half time 3-7.

Going into the 2nd half the rain and wind had picked up and we could tell all the girls were getting cold. Laura bagged another goal that rolled past their keeper, Scarborough managed to score another 2 and an unfortunate own goal brought the final result to 4-10 calling the game at the 57th minute as conditions had become unbearable.

A fantastic result for Pocklington to get some goals today.
New player Izzy M put a rocket into the defensive back line.
Mid fields all had a tough job of getting back against such fast paced opposition.
Wingers held their own in challenges and defense, consistently winning the ball and getting it up the field again.

Each week the girls improve and it's shows when we're getting results like this against top teams when we struggled to get a goal last season.

Thankyou to Gebs for putting on chips after the game so we could warm up.
No single player of the match this week as everyone put a shift in and we couldn't ask for more. We'll done girls!

Match report Pocklington u14 Pythons vs Heslerton u14s

A kick off at 11am the girls had an enthusiastic start to the game Laura scored early at the 6 minute mark, followed by another at 10 and 11 minutes!

The girls worked great together using space an intercepting the ball.

May scored her first goal of the season after a fantastic run on to the ball and crashing through their defence.

Another goal came just before half time from Izzy making the score 5-0 at half time.

Into the second half Heslerton switched their team about and brought out their amazing goalie into mid field who scored a blinder of goal from a free kick.

No goals for Pocklington in the second half but some great passing and runs onto the ball that we practise at training.

Heslerton scored another two with the final score 5-3 to Pocklington. A well needed win in a tough season adding 3 more points to the results table.

Captains player May for battling through and scoring.

Full Time - Pocklington Town Ladies 7 - 0 Brandesburton AFC

Pocklington Ladies once again delivered a superb home performance, defeating Brandesburton AFC 7-0.

Pocklington dominated the game from the start, maintaining possession and creating chances quickly.

Sophie Arnold broke the deadlock from close range, with a clinical finish making it 1-0. Sophie Coffey from outside the area quickly added a second with a great finish. Emma Nelson scored the third just before halftime with a precise finish from a corner.

Momentum remained with the home side, as more chances came, with Daniela Millar hitting a fantastic long-range goal to make it four.

Sophie Dyson, the skipper, maintained her goal-scoring form from midfield, scoring the fifth and sixth goals taking them both well.

Pocklington proceeded to play free-flowing, fast-paced football, with a through ball finding Daniela for her second goal of the game, bringing the score 7-0.

An outstanding individual and team effort.

Good luck to Brandesburton for the remainder of the season. We go again. ⚽️❤️👍

A home game today Pocklington Pythons u14s vs Elvington Harriers u14s

Laura was straight off the mark today, scoring a goal after 35 seconds!

A good first half with opportunities but Elvington being the more experienced team played well together scoring 4 goals before
half time.

Going into the second half the girls started flagging due to having the bare 11 players.
Still there were little sparks of moments when they used their training to get into space and play the ball forward.
A few more shots on goal that were unfortunately successfully saved by the opposition keeper.

Final score 1-6 to Elvington

The girls gave a 100% today though we couldn't have asked for more from them.
Stamina had really increased this week due to improved beep test scores at training.

Coaches player of the match Kara for tracking back to help defend and playing the ball upfront after changing position.

Captains players Megan for her fearless runs onto the ball and keeping possession to get it forward.

Full Time - Pocklington Town Ladies 3 - 3 Kingswood United Ladies.

One of the best individual and team performances of the season for Pocklington, trailing 1-0 against the run of play, however two excellent goals from Emma Nelson giving Pocklington a 2-1 lead against league leaders and unbeaten Kingswood. The second goal, goal of the season contender 💯.

Kingswood found themselves in a 3-2 lead until captain Sophie Dyson made it 3-3 with a great finish outside the area.

Points are shared, however a positive, driven and solid performance by the home team. Attitude was on point with a great team morale that keeps building. Emily and Alex both performing well on their home debuts also👍⚽️ Welcome to the Club.

Credit to each player individually as they all stepped up their game to perform at a high level against a very good opponent.

Good luck for the rest of the season Kingswood. See you on the road!
