If you're ready to step up to the plate, we’re ready to welcome you! Play together. Plymouth Mariners Baseball Club ⚾️
Swing big. Founded in 1998, the Plymouth Mariners Baseball Club has been a proud and established part of the South West baseball community for over 25 years. From our earliest days to the present, we’ve been driven by a shared love of the game, a strong sense of togetherness, and
a commitment to growing baseball in Plymouth and across the UK. Since 2003, we’ve proudly called Wilson Field in Central Park our home. This dedicated, purpose-built baseball ground sits right in the heart of the city and delivers a true ballpark experience. With boundary fencing, dugouts and a classic clay infield, it’s a place where memories are made — from first-ever hits to walk-off wins. For the 2026 season, Wilson Field will receive major upgrades to the fencing, dugouts and infield, reinforcing it as one of the best baseball facilities in the South West and a home the Mariners are proud to defend. The club is fully insured through the British Baseball Federation (BBF) and operates with qualified coaches, umpires and safeguarding officers, ensuring a safe, supportive and professional environment for all players. We currently compete in Division 5 of the BBF’s South West & Wales Baseball League (SWWBL), a fast-growing and competitive league that reflects the rising popularity of baseball throughout the UK. Throughout the summer season, the Mariners play a full schedule of home and away fixtures against clubs from Devon, Cornwall and Somerset. Like many successful UK baseball teams, we place a strong emphasis on player development, learning the game the right way and supporting each other on and off the field — while still bringing intensity, passion and competitiveness every time we step between the lines. Over the years, the Mariners have built a reputation for hard work, resilience and outstanding team spirit. That commitment has been rewarded with league success, including:
South West Baseball League Champions – 2012, 2013 & 2014
West Country Baseball League Champions – 2021 & 2024
But trophies are only part of the story. What truly defines the Plymouth Mariners is our culture. We are a welcoming, inclusive and community-focused club that feels more like a family than a team. Everyone is supported, everyone is encouraged, and everyone has a role to play — whether you’re a seasoned player or picking up a bat for the very first time. Our ambition is to continue building, developing and progressing, with promotion to Division 4 and beyond firmly in our sights. As we grow, we remain committed to providing opportunities for players to learn, improve and enjoy baseball in a positive, inclusive environment. We welcome anyone aged 14 and over, male or female, regardless of experience. If you’ve never played before, don’t worry — many of our players started exactly the same way. Baseball is a brilliant way to stay active, build confidence, learn new skills and make lifelong friendships. We offer FREE taster sessions, giving you the chance to meet our friendly, qualified coaches, train alongside our players and experience the unique buzz of baseball for yourself. Expect plenty of encouragement, laughs and support — from your first throw to your first hit. Catch. Repeat.
💙 A huge thank you to Marine Academy Plymouth and their Plymouth Community Partners for their incredible support in helping grow baseball and strengthen community sport across our city. If you’re ready to step up to the plate and become part of something special, the Plymouth Mariners are ready to welcome you with open arms.
