May goals!

I write my goals down each month: some change and some stay the same. Not because I failed them previously but they are a work in progress or just part of the life I want to live.

I find having goals and being present in what I want to achieve means I’m more likely to stick to it in the long run.

It’s taken me a few months but I’ve found a good balance between strength training and running. Managed by proper fuelling and ensuring I’m resting enough to give everything I’ve got.

Roll on May and everything it brings 💪☀️

Memories of March!

March has definitely had its ups and downs but we’ve made it through!

Looking forward to more sunset runs, van adventures and day spent in the sun with Pip 🤗

A conversation with one of my 1-1 clients earlier in the week sparked inspiration for this post.

They had so many questions regarding their program.
💫 They felt like they weren’t doing enough in the gym/in sessions.
💫 They wanted more exercises to fill a 2 hour training session.
💫 They thought more meant they’d achieved their dream physique quicker.

I listened and explained their programming to them to help them understand that quality and exercise selection is far more beneficial than adding more and more onto their workload.
And of course understanding the reasoning behind the program is always helpful and insightful I think.

4-6 exercises per session will help them see results.

Increasing daily expenditure outside of the gym will bring more benefits than a 2 hour weight session( especially as their main focus is fat loss for a wedding)

Dialling in on their nutrition is going to be the biggest factor for them.

Ensuring they are resting enough in between sessions(something I think everyone neglects from time to time)

If you have any questions regarding programs and exercises, pop me a message. Always happy to help.

Happy 1st of March.

Time for some springtime goals.

Better weather means getting outside is a non negotiable. Treadmill walks and runs are to be minimal.

I’ve always been a lover of sunsets/sunrises, I think sometime when life gets hectic I end up missing out of the things that I used enjoy so easily.

The book I’ve been hauling around for a month ( in the hopes I’ll have a quiet moment to sit down & read) needs to be finished.

My heavy deadlift block kind of came to an abrupt halt. Mainly due to tired legs and then being struck with a cold. So this month I’m aiming for a good 130kg, which I haven’t touched in a little over a year!

I will get the inside of the van lined and the bed up this month.

Follow along to see my March adventures
And pop me a DM if you have any gym goals you’re struggling with right now.

JANUARY RECAP

Days spent working on the van & a few overnight stops
Ending January with a 117.5kg squat PB and a pretty easy 120kg deadlift 🥳
