🔴⚪ OUR FINAL ANNOUNCEMENT... FOR NOW 👀 🔴⚪

We're rounding off our current squad announcements with our Captain and Number 15...

⚽ AVA ⚽

A natural leader and a hugely influential presence in the middle of the pitch, Ava will once again lead the team into the 2026/27 season from her role as a defensive midfielder. 👊

Ava loves a tackle, attacks every header and isn't afraid to put herself in the middle of the action. 💪

She's superb at breaking up opposition attacks, protecting the back four and then helping to launch counter-attacks and get us moving forward. ⚡

Her importance to the team was recognised last season when Ava was voted both Players' Player and Supporters' Player of the Season. 🏆🏆

Those awards are a fantastic reflection of the respect Ava has earned from both her teammates and the people who support the team, and there's no doubt she'll be a huge part of our campaign once again.

We're delighted to have our captain back for another season with Villa and can't wait to see Ava leading the team once again. ❤️🤍

🔴⚪ A COACHES' FAVOURITE 🔴⚪

Our next player returning for another season with Villa is our Number 2...

⚽ AMELIA ⚽

Last season's Coaches Player of the Year, Amelia was chosen for the award by our coaches Lee and Kev in recognition of the consistency, quality and commitment she showed throughout the season with Villa. 🏆👏

A rock-solid left full-back, Amelia is always keen to get forward, supporting the attack, overlapping her winger and looking to make things happen in the opposition's final third. ⚡

Composed and assured in possession, Amelia reads the game superbly and is also a very good passer of the ball, giving us another option when building from the back. 🎯

Her consistency, intelligence and willingness to get forward make her a hugely valuable member of the squad.

We're delighted to have Amelia back for another season and can't wait to see her continue to be such an important player for the team. ❤️🤍

🔴⚪ VERSATILITY IN ABUNDANCE 🔴⚪

We're delighted to introduce our third and final new signing for the 2026/27 season, our Number 20...

⚽ PRIYAH ⚽

Priyah is yet another incredibly versatile player, capable of playing in midfield or anywhere across the back four. 💪 She's even shown she can step between the sticks when needed, as she proved during the summer by covering in goal at the Starcross Tournament! 🧤

Having played at a good level in the mixed league over the last few seasons, we're excited to see what Priyah can bring to the group and are delighted to have secured her signature on a Villa contract. ✍️❤️

And she's already made an impression off the pitch too, quickly becoming a funny and popular member of the squad and fitting in brilliantly with the group. 😂👏

We're looking forward to seeing Priyah continue to develop, contribute wherever she's needed and show exactly what she can bring to Villa throughout the season. 🔥

Our next player returning for another season with Villa is our Number 16...

⚽ SIAN ⚽

Last season's top goalscorer and joint winner of our Most Goal Contributions Award, Sian was a constant threat in front of goal and played a huge part in our success. 🏆⚽

A talented centre forward with not only a real eye for goal, Sian also brings plenty to our attacking play. She's strong at holding the ball up and has an excellent ability to bring others into the game with her intelligent link-up play. 🎯

Sian is also a big character within the group, with a real passion for the game and an unmistakeable desire to win. She gives everything whenever she pulls on the Villa shirt. 💯

We're delighted to have Sian back for another season and can't wait to see her continue to lead the line and cause problems for opposition defences. 💪🔥

🔴⚪ FROM SETBACK TO MATCH-WINNER 🔴⚪

Our next player returning for another season with Elburton is our Number 4...

⚽ LILLY ⚽

A strong central defender who relishes the physical battle, Lilly is never afraid to put herself in the way of an opposition attack and compete for every ball. 💪

But there's more to Lilly's game than just her defensive strength. She's also very adept at playing passes out from the back, helping to turn defence into attack and setting us on our way up the pitch. ⚡

Last season couldn't have started much worse for Lilly, suffering a serious injury in the opening weeks which ruled her out until after Christmas. But huge credit to her for the hard work and determination she put into her recovery to get herself back to full fitness. 👏

Then, in a tight game during the run-in towards the end of the season, Lilly produced a fantastic moment, scoring her first Villa goal with a superb last-minute free-kick winner to secure three vital points and help us on our way to finishing as league runners-up. 🎯⚽

We're delighted to have Lilly back for another season and can't wait to see her continue to build on that fantastic comeback. ❤️🤍

🔴⚪ FINISHING LAST SEASON IN STYLE 🔴⚪

Our next player returning for another season with Villa is our Number 17...

⚽ ELENA ⚽

Elena is a versatile full-back who is equally comfortable playing on either the left or right side of the defence. 💪

Joining us midway through last season, Elena initially found it difficult to get a consistent run in the team with the number of games being postponed. But once fixtures became more regular, she soon demonstrated the qualities she brings to the side. 👏

And she certainly finished the season strongly, picking up two Player of the Match awards during the run-in. 🏆🏆

Strong in the tackle, composed on the ball and possessing an impressive turn of speed, Elena has quickly established herself as a real asset to the team. ⚡🎯

We're delighted to have Elena back for another season and can't wait to see her continue to build on the strong finish she made to last season. ❤️🤍

We're delighted to introduce another new member of our 2026/27 squad, our Number 5...

⚽ MACEY ⚽

Macey joins us after impressing against us on three occasions last season, and we're delighted to now have her on board at Elburton. 👏

A tall and fast forward, Macey has predominantly played on the right wing, where her pace and direct style make her a constant threat for opposition defences. ⚡

She's also shown during pre-season that she's more than capable of playing across the forward positions, demonstrating her versatility and willingness to play wherever the team needs her. 💪

Always looking to make things happen in the final third, Macey gives us another exciting attacking option and we're looking forward to seeing what she can bring to the team throughout the season. 🔥

🔴⚪ TONIGHT'S FRIENDLY CANCELLED ⚪🔴

Unfortunately, tonight's final pre-season friendly against AFC Brixham Mermaids has been cancelled, with our opponents unable to raise a team. 😞

It’s frustrating to have the game called off, particularly as this was due to be our final test ahead of the new season. However, these things can happen during the summer period, with players away or becoming unavailable at short notice.

With no further pre-season action now scheduled, our focus turns firmly to the league opener on Saturday 5th September, when we travel to Higher Efford to face Drake FC Girls. 💪⚽

One more week until league action! 🔥

Our next player returning for another season with Elburton is our Number 14...

⚽ BETH ⚽

An elegant central defender, Beth brings a calm and composed presence to the back line. 🎯

A feature of Beth's game is her ability to stride out of defence with the ball at her feet, confidently carrying possession forward and giving us an extra dimension when launching attacks. ⚡ As a natural left-footer, she also provides an important balance to the side.

One of Beth's highlights from last season came in the first round of our cup run, when she scored the winning goal against her former side. ⚽ That goal proved hugely important in setting us on our way towards the cup success we enjoyed at the end of the season. 🏆

We're delighted to have Beth back for another season and can't wait to see her calmness, composure and ability on the ball continue to be such an asset to the team. ❤️🤍

Our next player returning for another season with Elburton is our Number 6...

⚽ LYDIA ⚽

A hugely popular member of the squad, Lydia is always bringing plenty of laughs and is a big part of keeping the team spirit high. 😂❤️

On the pitch, Lydia spent most of last season playing as a versatile forward, but during the run-in she began to take on a role in midfield and quickly looked very comfortable there.

With a good eye for a pass and the ability to spot an opportunity to open up an opposition defence, Lydia brings another dimension to our midfield. 🎯

We're looking forward to seeing Lydia continue to develop in this role throughout the new season and can't wait to see what she can bring to the team. 💪
