🏏 Weekend Results 🏏

Two wins from three for our league sides on Saturday, and a great way for our 3rd XI to finish their season. ❤️

The 1st XI picked up a 4-wicket win away at Billingshurst, bowling the hosts out for 98 before reaching 99/1 in just 15.5 overs.

It was a much closer one for the 2nd XI against Crawley Nayee. Petworth made 126 before taking the game right to the wire, with Crawley Nayee reaching 130/8 to win by 2 wickets.

The 3rd XI finished their season on a high with a 68-run win over Eastergate. Petworth posted 255/5 before Eastergate finished on 187/9. Captain Paul Sadler led from the front with 83 and 3-12, and was extremely pleased to see all four juniors in the team taking wickets too. 👏

On Sunday, our Friendly XI faced a strong Sussex Martlets side at Petworth Park. The visitors declared on 215/7 from 35 overs, with Petworth making 163 in reply.

A special mention to all our juniors who represented and contributed to PPCC senior teams across the weekend. 👏❤️

And congratulations to all our Players of the Match across the weekend, with a double header for Fred Primmer! ⭐🏏

Well done to everyone who played and represented PPCC across the weekend!

🏏 The Memorial Trophy | PPCC v Kirdford CC

Our Friendly XI welcomed Kirdford CC to Petworth Park on Sunday for another close contest for the Memorial Trophy.

There’s always a bit of friendly rivalry when Petworth and Kirdford meet, with many players turning out for both clubs across the season and plenty of familiar faces on either side.

PPCC batted first and made 257/4, with Graham Westmore and Tom Creed both reaching 100 before retiring. Kirdford chased the total down with just one ball remaining, finishing on 258/8 to win by two wickets.

A special mention for junior George White, who was named PPCC Player of the Match after a fantastic bowling performance, taking 4 wickets. 👏🏏

The Memorial Trophy marks a much older connection between the two clubs. The framed trophy shows Petworth Park’s 1914 fixture list. The last game played before WW1 broke out was Kirdford CC v Petworth Park CC.

More than a century later, that connection between the two clubs continues, with PPCC Chairman Alex Rees presenting the Memorial Trophy to Kirdford captain and familiar PPCC face Gus Fletcher after Sunday’s match.

🏏 Weekend Results Round-Up

Two wins from three for our league sides on Saturday, with victories for the 2nd and 3rd XIs and some fantastic performances across all three teams. ❤️

The 1st XI welcomed Himani CC to Petworth Park and scored 253/9 from their 40 overs. Himani chased down the target, finishing on 256/6 to win by four wickets.

The 2nd XI enjoyed a convincing eight-wicket win away at Warnham. After bowling the hosts out for 129, Petworth reached 133/2 in just 19.5 overs.

A fantastic result for the 3rd XI, who scored an impressive 329/6 before Littlehampton, Clapham & Patching CC 4th XI finished on 229/9, giving Petworth a 100-run win. 🏏

Well done to everyone who played and represented the club across our three league sides. ❤️
