🏏 Midweek Round-Up

🌟 Our Women’s Softball team enjoyed a fantastic 26-run victory away at Wisborough Green on Tuesday evening, with Georgie Grandy taking Player of the Match.

🌧️ Thursday’s T20 XI Sussex Slam fixture at Slinfold was washed out and will now be played on Thurs 11 June.

🏏 Another busy weekend of cricket at PPCC…

👏 The 1st XI returned to winning ways with a 4-wicket victory over Littlehampton, Clapham & Patching 2nd XI.

💔 The 2nd XI came up just short away at West Chiltington & Thakeham, losing by 4 wickets.

💪 The 3rd XI endured a tough afternoon against a strong Airfield Chichester side, but there were positives to take from the day, including an encouraging debut performance from young James Sturgess.

🔥 The Sunday XI continued their excellent form with a 7-wicket victory over Crawley Crabs, chasing down 180 with plenty to spare.

🌟 Players of the Match

🏆 1st XI - Tom Creed - a superb all-round performance, contributing with bat, ball and in the field.

🏆 2nd XI - Harry Gilchrist - led the way with an excellent innings of 80.

🏆 3rd XI - Richard Ivison - the standout performer with the ball against strong opposition.

🏆 Sunday XI - Eve Atkins - an excellent spell of bowling.

🏏 Midweek cricket round-up at PPCC…

💔 Our Women’s Softball team were narrowly beaten by Billingshurst in a closely fought contest at Petworth Park.

👏 Meanwhile, the Petworth Pirates T20 XI made it two wins from two in this year’s Sussex Slam, defeating Southwater Scorchers by 4 wickets.

⭐ Women’s Softball POTM: Eve Atkins for her excellent work behind the stumps, taking wickets and making a real impact in the field.

⭐ T20 XI POTM: Tom Harvey-Jones for a superb spell of bowling, finishing with outstanding figures of 4/21 from his 4 overs.

Well played to everyone involved and thank you to all who came along to support! ❤️🏏

100 up for Gus 💙🏏

Saturday saw Gus make his 100th appearance for Petworth Park CC, a huge milestone and thoroughly deserved.

A key part of the club both on and off the field, Gus captained the 1st XI through an incredible period that included 3 promotions in a row and 2 league titles.

His highlights? Winning cricket matches.
His lowlights? Apparently getting run out… and failing to hit the occasional free hit 😅

Thanks for everything you’ve given the club so far Gus and congratulations on reaching 100 games 👏

Karen Hingora impressed for PPCC Women’s Softball in last Thursday’s match against Fernhurst Flames at Petworth Park ❤️

James Lywood’s unbeaten 62* earned him 1st XI POTM away at Barns Green CC on Saturday 👏

Lee Soar & Fred Primmer shared 2nd XI honours following the team’s win over Southwater CC 💪
Special mention to Ted Carter for his outstanding figures of 2/19 off 9 overs 🔥

Will Brewster claimed 3rd XI POTM away at West Wittering CC with 3 wickets and great intent 👏

Tom Creed took Sunday XI honours after starring against Wisborough Green CC with 80 runs and 2 wickets 🔥
Plus a special mention to Lee Soar for his classy 64 - hot stuff! 👏

👏 2nd XI continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 37 run victory over Southwater 3rd XI
🔥 3rd XI celebrated their first win of the season away at West Wittering
🏏 Sunday XI made it another win, beating Wisborough Green by 12 runs in a high-scoring friendly
💔 1st XI fell just short away to Barns Green
💪 Women’s Softball lost by just 8 runs to Fernhurst Flames but it was a great evening in the park

A mixed bag in the Sussex Cricket League this weekend, but plenty of fight and some great performances across the club 💪🏏

🔥 1st XI made it two wins from two with a superb 6 wicket victory over Brighton & Hove CC 4th XI
👏 2nd XI awarded the points after Kilnwood Vale conceded
💔 3rd XI narrowly beaten by just 2 wickets in a nailbiter against Worthing CC 4th XI
