Match report
Last Friday saw Oakley the visitors to Loch Leven Commujity Campus. The boys went into the game missing a few familiar faces which saw an opportunity for other boys to stamp their mark in the starting 11.
Similar to last weekβs performance the boys conceded early doors which caused a worry that this game would end in similar fashion. The boys stepped up their game and stayed compact during lots of pressure from Oakley. Kyle who stepped up to fill in between the sticks did really well to keep the boys within touching distance of the visitors.
Nearing the end of the first half, Oakley started to ramp up the chances and grabbed a second, taking a 2-0 lead into the break.
HT: Kinnoull 0 - Oakley 2.
The second half started with some early changes, the depleted squad took its toll and changes were needed to freshen things up and replace injuries.
The boys started to get the ball moving really well and even created a couple of half opportunities ourselves. Starting to show signs of small improvements from weeks gone by.
As the game progressed the fitness levels again showing tenfold and Oakley started to rack up the chances left, right and centre, finishing off quite a few of them.
The boys did well to hang on as long as they could but ultimately fell short of a strong Oakley side on the night.
FT: Kinnoull 0 - Oakley 7.
Another defeat for the boys but starting to show signs of small improvements across the pitch. A side that included a few changes and low numbers showed good grit and character to keep as resilient as possible.
All the best to Oakley for the rest of their season π€π»
Next up for the lads - a match up against local side Letham at 7 acres.
