We kicked off our new‑look league campaign in emphatic style, delivering a powerful, confident performance in Edinburgh to mark the start of life in the SWFL East.
New league, new challenges — but the same Jeanfield identity: intensity, teamwork, and goals.
Conditions & Kick‑Off - The rain began to fall heavily just before kick‑off at Peffermill Playing Fields, but the surface held beautifully.
We started fast, aggressive, and organised — and within minutes, the tone of the afternoon was set.
We wasted no time asserting themselves.
6’ — Rachel Gray corner → powerful header
A brilliant delivery from Rachel and an explosive header from Amy Mckay to open the scoring.
9’ — Emma Flynn‑Scott corner → Mhairi Morrison header
Almost a carbon copy — superb delivery, superb movement, superb finish.
2–0 inside nine minutes.
We continued to carve out chances with sharp link‑up play and relentless pressure, but despite multiple opportunities, the score remained 2–0 at the break.
Half‑Time Changes & Return of Kiara
A couple of changes at the interval brought fresh energy — including the return of Kiara Macdiarmid, back in action after time away following the birth of her son. She settled instantly, adding composure, movement, and threat up top.
Second Half
Our dominance continued with some great play from all over the park, coming close lots of times, just wide, hitting the crossbar, the post and everywhere but the back of the net, but the goals did flow.
4 cracking goals came and in quick succession
Erin Hapka (P) — Calmly slotted home from the spot.
Erin Hapka (20 yards) — A thunderous strike smashed into the net.
Kiara Macdiarmid (x2) — A dream return. Two composed finishes, picking up exactly where she left off last season.
We did keep pushing in the final minutes, with several players coming close, but the scoreline remained a commanding six.
