SWFL North League
Jeanfield Swifts WFC vs Ross County WFC
Riverside Stadium, Perth
On a bright afternoon at Riverside Stadium, Jeanfield Swifts closed out their SWFL North campaign with a dominant performance and a well‑deserved three points against Ross County. With the sun out and a strong home crowd behind them, the players delivered a display full of intensity, creativity, and togetherness — the perfect way to sign off a brilliant season.
We came flying out the blocks with real purpose. The opening 15 minutes saw wave after wave of pressure, with Katie Niven, Emma Flynn‑Scott, Erin Hapka, Tash T, and a Rachel Gray strike crashing off the crossbar all threatening to break the deadlock.
The tempo, aggression, and quality were exactly what the coaches asked for — but despite controlling the half and carving out the better chances, the County keeper and defence held firm.
Half-Time: 0–0
Second Half - the restart brought more of the same: We were on the front foot, pinning Ross County back and pushing for the opener.
On 59 minutes, the breakthrough finally arrived — and it was a beauty.
Superb work in midfield opened the pitch, before Rachel Gray threaded a perfectly weighted through ball into Katie Niven, who burst into the box and unselfishly squared it to Tash T. Calm as you like, she slotted home to make it 1–0 and give Jeanfield the lead they fully deserved.
From there, the Swifts took complete control.
Emma Flynn‑Scott rattled the post with a stunning 25‑yard free‑kick
Olivia, Taylor, Niamh, Tash T, Erin, and Katie all came close to adding a second
At the other end, Sophia and the defensive unit were rock solid, dealing with every Ross County attack with composure and discipline
Despite the dominance, the killer second goal didn’t come — but the performance was more than enough to secure the win.
Full-Time: Jeanfield Swifts 1–0 Ross County
Season Reflection
This victory caps off a fantastic season for the squad. Jeanfield finish on 41 points and proudly hold the second‑best defensive record in the league, conceding just 20 goals — a testament to the team’s organisation, work rate, and collective pride.
It’s a campaign full of progress, identity, and belief. The only disappointment is that it’s over.
Player of the Match
Katie Niven
A relentless performance. Constant running, constant pressure, constantly doubled up on — and still at the heart of everything positive. Fully deserved.
