A great show down in Wishaw yesterday at the Belhaven 11 show
4 fighters 2 convincing wins and 2 lost on a split decision that could have and should have went in our favour.
Jimmy Mcgregor was in first. Excellent performance from Jimmy, everything that was trained in the gym was put into his fight!
Jimmy won the 1st round convincingly 2nd was a draw and the 3rd round went to his opponent. Lost on a split. Back to the drawing board but really could have went any way!
Mackay. The big man was in shortly after, Mackay had a competition at the start of the year and came away with a few bad results. This young man has been working tirelessy from then onwards, unfortunately had to change to boxing because of an injury. Incredible fighter iQ for a novice in his first ring fight he fought like a seasoned pro. Walked away with a unanimous decision.
Kacey stepped in after the break. Found out there and then that we where up against a points styled fighter. We changed our style and approach with her focusing using hands and walking down her opponent. Listened to her corner with each instruction and she finished with her hand raised!
Corrie. Well I've never felt so disheartened in a result but that's the game. Corrie from start to finish was relentless with his counter, the energy and agility from this 16yr was like he played this game for years and it was another day in the office, as stated the result stands as a defeat however more of that from corrie and we will be looking onto bigger things when he enters adulthood.
Partizan support need a round of applause for their turnout on short notice. Thank you very much for coming and supporting these fighters in their fights as well as training.
Onto the next
