SPCU T20 Trophy – Match Result

Perth Doo’cot CC won the toss and chose to bat first, posting 123/7 in 20 overs. Tay Lions CC’s bowling unit put in a disciplined performance, with Tharindu Seneviratne (2/24), Sameera Ravihansa (2/31), and Jude Fernando (1/9) picking up key wickets.

As the light began to fade, Tay Lions CC approached the chase with confidence and determination. An outstanding unbeaten 39 by Tharindu Seneviratne*, supported by Jude Fernando (26) and Theja Shaluka (22), helped the Lions reach 124/4 in just 18 overs.

SPCU Division 01 – Match Summary

Tay Lions CC vs Rossie Priory

Tay Lions won the toss and elected to bat first, posting a competitive 222/9 in 45 overs.

A special mention goes to two of the club’s young talents, Ushan Boruppa and Kawinda Punsara, who played crucial roles in building the innings. Ushan continued his impressive form, strengthening the middle order and scoring his second half-century for the club with a brilliant 57 runs. Punsara added a valuable 31 runs, while Theja Shaluka contributed 26 runs, helping Tay Lions reach a challenging total.

With the ball, Imthas Hussain was the pick of the bowlers with 2 wickets for 45 runs, while Jude Fernando claimed 1 wicket for 21 runs and Dinuka Muthukumarana took 1 wicket for 41 runs.

In reply, Rossie Priory chased down the target, reaching 225/4 in 40.1 overs to secure victory by 6 wickets.

The successful chase was led by:

* Muhammad Awais – 46 runs
* Tony Mathew – 42 runs
* Gordon Stark – 37 runs

Tay Lions Trophy 2026 – Phase 3, Perth

Under the radiant skies of spring, the beautiful Glendelvine Cricket Ground came alive on 24th May 2026 as cricket enthusiasts gathered for a memorable celebration of sport, friendship, and community.

The Tay Lions Cricket Club proudly hosted another successful 6-A-Side Family Cricket Tournament, where the spirit of cricket transcended competition. Men’s and Women’s teams showcased their passion, skill, and sportsmanship, creating a day filled with excitement, laughter, and unforgettable moments.

Beyond the boundary ropes, families and friends enjoyed a vibrant atmosphere enriched with delicious street food, lively music, meaningful conversations, and the joy of meeting new faces. It was a true celebration of unity, love, and the timeless charm of outdoor cricket.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated, supported, and contributed to making this event a remarkable success.
