We’re proud to share that Castletown Athletic U12s (now U13s) were recently named runners-up in the prestigious John Twentyman Spirit of Cumberland Football Awards 2025. This recognition followed an unfortunate on-pitch collision involving one of our players and the much-respected local referee, Bill Martin - both of whom required hospital treatment, with one of our parents kindly transported Bill to hospital.
In the aftermath, players, coaches, and spectators came together swiftly, prioritising the wellbeing of those involved and demonstrating the true spirit of our club. We also extend our thanks to our opponents that day, Keswick, who were equally commendable. We’re pleased to say both Bill and our player have since made a full recovery.
The award was decided by public vote and a judging panel, and we’re honoured to have been recognised. Everyone connected to Castletown Junior Football Club should feel immensely proud. This recognition reflects everything we stand for - community, togetherness, and respect.

Today, our under 9s teams had an 5:30am early start for an unforgettable experience. They enjoyed a tour and training session at St. George’s Park, in a combined 2.5 hour exsperiance at the premier training facility in England and home to the England teams. It was truly an amazing experience!

The boys represented Castletown Juniors remarkably well, showcasing exceptional behavior and a positive attitude throughout the event. Their dedication and sportsmanship truly stood out, reflecting the values and attitude exspected of them this was even commented on from St George’s park - thankyou

Oliver with a hat-trick, Frankie, Keegan and George with the goals.
Scott was player of the match with a superb performance in midfield.

Tomorrow marks the beginning of an exciting journey for our two under-9 teams as they start there journey as now two established teams in grassroots junior football in the Penrith and district junior football league

Castletown Elite will host Langwathby at The Rec KO 11:15
while Castletown Athletic will take on Penrith Blue Grays away at Frenchfield KO 10:30

🏆 What an amazing day for the Castletown Juniors Under 9s! Yesterday, we had the fantastic opportunity to be part of Carlisle United's Community Day. The atmosphere was excellent, and we witnessed an incredible match as Carlisle secured a brilliant 3-0 victory! ⚽️👏 A huge thank you to Carlisle United for the warm welcome It was a day filled with fun, 💙

Our Athletic U13s host Annan Athletic at Frenchfield tomorrow, 11am kick-off in a pre-season friendly. It’s a fantastic chance for the boys to showcase their ability and gain invaluable experience in what promises to be a great occasion. Good luck team.
