Re post….just a little reminder!

Weight loss is not a linear process, DO NOT ever feel discouraged by an increase or even a plateau in weight, especially when you know you have been doing all the right things with your diet and exercise. The scales can easily become your enemy and it’s far too easy to start a negative habit of constantly hopping on them in the hope it has changed.

There are many reasons as to why our weight can fluctuate,

👉Did you have a big meal the night before?
👉What foods did you eat? High volume low calories? Lean meats? Everything takes time to digest and some foods take longer than others without having to consider the intake volume too
Have you been to the toilet? (Yes, you know what I mean!.....)
👉Sodium foods and carbohydrates can affect how much water we retain (1g of carbs needs around 3-4g of water)
👉Alcohol is a diuretic (will make you need the toilet more!)
👉How much water have you drunk? If you don't drink enough you will retain it!
👉How much have you moved, did you work out? Get your steps in?
👉Let’s not forget about those pesky hormones too.

There are many, many more reasons as to why our weight can change. Just because the scales don’t show you what you want, does not mean you have not made progress. Unfortunately it will never be a linear process, we will always have fluctuations out of our control. For myself personally, I can go weeks without seeing a drop on the scales but from my measurements and pictures I can clearly see a difference, I always advise people to do the same. The fact that you have taken the right steps to better your health whether it be fat loss, muscle gain or better nutrition, this is progress in itself and should be applauded.

Weight loss is not a race, you are on your own journey. Results will come with the right knowledge. Embrace the lifestyle, not the result!

Throughout June we are going to be running some special offers. If you fancy trying something new, this month will be the best time for you to not only get to know me as a coach but meet some great people along the way.

Circuits - a fun filled hour of music, laughs, cardio and weight based movements. Each week brings something different, be that working on your own or in groups, style of training & fun challenges, it's always a variety. Throughout June Circuits will be £3.00 a session. Normally £5.00 or £20 for 5 sessions. Classes are a max of 6 people and minimum of 2 for the class to go ahead.

Current class timetable is,
Wednesday @ 6pm
Thursday @ 3pm
Friday @ 6:30pm
More classes can be added depending on demand.
Booking is required via FB, Insta or Email.
Run in a private garden with gym and grass space in Peacehaven.

Personal Training sessions

1 hr sessions are normally £35 (based on full price and not block offers) Throughout June each session will be £25.00 per hour session.

30 minute sessions are normally £25.00 (based on full price and not block offers) Throughout June each session will be £20.00 per 30 minutes.

Personal training offers are based on one client, not valid on shared sessions. Check out the FB Service tab for all the information on what our sessions include as it's more than just a workout session!

Pre-assessment and PAR - Q are required before any personal training session. This session is free of charge and takes roughly 40 mins.

What a glorious Bank Holiday it is! The sun is shining and the gin is flowing, no better time to share this 30 day core challenge with you all.

This is just a bit of fun, to keep you moving throughout June, bring the community together and hopefully give you a slightly stronger core by the end of it!.

Add this onto the end of your workouts or whenever you have a few minutes to complete it. If your doing this outside of your training or working out, make sure to do a little warm up beforehand.

I'll be doing videos throughout June of myself completing this challenge to keep you motivated.

Don't forget if your a client or circuit class attendee, you get access to the private Chubby PT community group on FB so make sure to get yourself into that group for support from the community during this June challenge.

This is me!

In preparation of the June 30 day core challenge and offers, I thought I'd remind you all of who I am!.

I'm just a gal, helping others like me get on the right path to become happier in your own skin, healthier and stronger!

I'm not perfect, I'm not an athlete, just a normal person who's been on a journey of losing 40kg! I have wobbly and flappy bits but the truth is we ALL have wobbly bits and it's about time it's seen as what it truly is.....normal!!!.

Can I help you get fitter and stronger? Most definitely 🏋🏻‍♀️

Will I shout at you and motivate you to keep going while randomly bursting into dance?...most likely!💃

If your lucky, I'll even join in and keep you paced and motivated during your Met Con's for that added support.

I'm breaking the barriers and stigma of what a "traditional" coach should look like! Do you trust me?

What a way to end the week! I absolutely love watching my ladies get stronger and ultimately more powerful, it’s not all about weight loss. PB’s all-round for Nicky today, a session that started off with her struggling to shift a bad headache and not knowing how this session would go….but once those endorphins kicked in, she was off and nothing was stopping her!.

I snuck in some test capacity work into her training this week to assess our progress through her 8 week program, a 3 second increase on her 500m row time. A massive 10kg squat increase, focusing on her mobility and form has helped dramatically with this. Then for those b***y gains, an increase in her hip thrust, which in all honestly, shocked me just as much as it did her with a little mid rep picture for photo evidence.

Every client has their own training files which they can access, this includes all your mobility work, training programmes, testing capacity work, measurements and movement screens. It’s a great motivator to be able to visually see your progress over time.

I’m looking forward to seeing what Nicky has to bring for the rest of our training, especially with the compound movements, she is a lot stronger than she gives herself credit for.

A bit of tough love today...

Chances are it took you years to gain an excess amount of fat, and quite frankly it takes just as long to reverse it. You didn't randomly wake up overweight! Don't expect to lose it again in a click of a finger. Everyone is after the quick fixes these days, weight loss supplements, juices and even teas/coffees, it's all a fancy way of selling you a calorie deficit which you can do yourself and enjoy it more.

Short term quick weight loss is not smart and it's not clever. Chances are it's mostly water and muscle with a small amount of fat loss and as soon as you start to eat/drink normally again, you put it straight back on, back at square one looking for the next quick fix. If fat loss is your goal and you want to keep it off, I'm sorry to say but it's the long game for you my friend.

Sustainable fat loss takes patience and it takes commitment. Just look at myself, it's taken me 3 years to reverse the damage I did to myself and I'm still going but because I've done it sensibly and sustainably not once have I put weight back on to the point of being back at square one.

Granted we are all different and some people prefer or need different methods of fat loss (especially if medical conditions get in the way) and that's fine too as long as we find the right method that's going to give you long term achievements and not just a quick fix.

The picture on the right was taken by a client in the middle of our session as they noticed how much my body has changed. I generally did not mind, if my achievements help keep my clients motivated and to put their faith in me to trust the process, they can have a sneaky rest to avoid the hip thrusts and squats.

Not just any weekend! but a Bank Holiday weekend!.

How was your week? Did you achieve your goals? What do you need from me?

The great thing about being a coach is that it's not just about getting you to workout, I can help you with what you need most, be that motivation with check ins, habit setting, fat loss, nutrition advice and most importantly goal setting....the list is endless. I'm here for you!

Fun fact about me, one of my goals was to learn to Box Jump, those who know me will know how hard it was to even get me to jump onto the most tiny box. I'm still not perfect, I can now jump onto a 24in plyo box but I still have to have a fight with my brain first 😅. Fancy trying something new? Don't know how to begin? Once again I am here to help. What to learn to lift? Complete your first pull up? Run 5k without stopping? Goals are a great way to keep you motivated and track your progressions.

I'm still a work in progress, just like you, but that's okay. Myself and my "Chubby PT" community are in this together! We lean on each other for support and are enjoying this journey as a team!.
