If i was to wake up 14 years ago and could relive my strongman life what would I do instead?

Probably first would be jumping out my bed like the spring chicken I was back in the day 🤣

But there are a few things I would really want to do better.

Ask questions. Ignorance is not bliss and what you don't know will cause you to lose points.

More warm ups. I could get away with it when I was younger but I know I should have done more.

More toilet paper. Ever been in a gym thats ran out of paper. I have it wasn't fun but I was thankful for my emergency toilet rolls.

Learning is life. You are there to learn things. Winning is good but learning is better.

Have fun. See if you aren't enjoying it thats a problem. You are there to have fun. Its suppose to be fun.

Hobbies.

Brilliant things. 

Something you can properly sink your teeth into and help you achieve your goals. 

But we always seem to f**k them off eventually.

Its usually when we spend less time as ourselves.

I think they are a must because I would not have achieved half my weight loss without my hobbies.

They helped me relax when I was stressed.

Kept me occupied when I was hungry.

Let me be proud of finishing something.

Dozens of other things on top but the important thing is it was a focus around me.

A couple of hours in the evening everyday I can made a world of difference to my mental health and goals.

I always suggest to my clients to find a new hobby.

Its all about putting you first. 

Like you should be in your own life.

We need to stop putting ourselves second in our own lives.

Its men's mental health month and you'll hear a lot about talking to people.

I would 100% advocate for this. I have done it and honestly its made suck a difference in my life.

But the other thing that will help you is prioritising yourself.

We give so much of our lives to other things like work we forget to take care of yourselves.

Instead we need to focus on us.

Your healthy, your hobbies, your happiness.

Don't lose yourself.

Make yourself a priority.

Dieting is hard.

It's not meant to be easy.

There is ways to make it easier but being hungry, being tired it is all part of the process.

You're forcing change on your body.

We as humans don't like change too much at the start.

But in this week's Anvil Power Hour, I give you all the tools to build your own dieting phases.

Quick download on the week.

Training has been overall good.

Didn't record much of it clearly it didn't happen but it did.

We will get to that next week.

Been running this peogramme for the last 5 months so time for a shake up I think.

Back to some more strongman training next week.

Hobby stuff has gone down a treat this week.

Really helped balance the more hectic parts of my life.

We are closing in on the end of the Headtakers and we will move onto the next project.

Egypt booked up for next march. Spain for October.

Loving life right now.

Life is good.

I've failed i can't do it!

That is not the approach you need to take.

I failed how did it go wrong? 

What can I avoid in the future?

Those are the questions you need to ask!

Failure isn't the end of it.  Mostly likely a speed bump along the way.

It can teach you what not to do. 

I have failed more times than I can count but I didn't give up.

Thats a choice you chose to fail and end it.

My job is to help you process and make sure it doesn't happen again.

Why?

Cause you're tired of giving up. 

Not getting what you want

So why not join my team and let me help you to end the failure cycle and get what you want out of life. 

We look past the superficial reasons and expose the real why. 

Because that is what's going to get you the results you need.

I have spaces to help you but they won't be around long.

You need to make the decision to change. 

Then I can help you achieve it.

Get my goat time.

Phones.

They are a handy tool. 

But when you spend 15 minutes between sets catching up of social media that really does f**k me off.

Probably looking up why they aren't getting stronger.

The answer.

Not working hard enough. 

Have respect for the other gym members who are training.

Gym should be a place where you can spend some time working on yourself.

If you want better, more productive sessions.

Ditch the phones.  Focus on yourself.

Be selfish and prioritise yourself.

Your goals require sacrifice.

Becuase if they didn't need sacrifice, you will be achieving them already.

Whether that is spending more time in the gym.

Going to a new gym where the kit you need is.

Saying no to that takeaway.

Bringing your own lunch.

If you goal is important to you will do these things.

If you don't want to sacrifice then you don't want your hoal hard enough.

Simple as.

Put yourself first.

Do what you need to do.
