“Girls only train legs…”

Wrong girl, bro.

For years women were told to avoid training upper body because they’d get “too bulky.” Meanwhile most of us are carrying kids, shopping bags, washing baskets and the weight of the entire household on our shoulders anyway.

Training upper body isn’t just about aesthetics, although I won’t lie, I love a pair of capped shoulders.

It’s about strength, posture, confidence and longevity.

A strong back helps support better posture.
Strong shoulders create balance in your physique.
Strong arms make everyday life easier.
And building muscle overall helps support your metabolism, bone health and long-term health as we age.

So yes, train glutes.
Train legs.
But don’t neglect the muscles you see every time you look in the mirror.

The goal isn’t to look smaller.

The goal is to become stronger, more capable and more confident in your own skin.

And if that comes with boulder shoulders and a strong back?

Even better.

Me and Vicky are teaming up to bring you THRIVE.

No nonsense.
No quick fixes.
No soft girl era.

Just women lifting weights, getting stronger, building confidence and discovering what they’re truly capable of.

THRIVE is a small group personal training session designed for women who want more than a fitness class. This isn’t a HIIT or circuit-style workout where you’re left wondering what comes next. You’ll be coached throughout, following a structured strength training programme with progression built in, helping you get stronger week after week.

But THRIVE isn’t just about lifting weights.

It’s about surrounding yourself with good people. We want to create a supportive community of women who encourage each other both inside and outside the gym. Alongside our training sessions, we’ll be organising social meet-ups too, whether that’s a group walk, a coffee, breakfast after training or an ice cream when the British weather finally decides to sort itself out. 🍦☀️

Peptides seem to be the fitness industry’s favourite topic right now.

Some people think they’re cheating.

Some people think they’re a miracle.

Some people think they’re the reason anyone looks lean these days.

The truth is probably somewhere in the middle.

I’ve used peptides myself, so I’m not coming at this from a place of judgement or pretending I’ve never touched them.

Did they help? Yes.

But they didn’t track my food.

They didn’t hit my protein target.

They didn’t get me to the gym when I couldn’t be bothered.

They didn’t make me train hard.

They didn’t make me get my steps in.

They didn’t make me stay consistent.

Peptides can be a useful tool for some people, but they’re not a substitute for the things that actually create results.

The boring stuff still works.

Training.
Nutrition.
Movement.
Sleep.
Consistency.

That’s what changes your body.

Peptides might help support the process, but they don’t replace the process.

I’m curious where people stand on this one…

People often ask what I do for a living.

I could say I’m a personal trainer.

But really, I help people realise they’re capable of more than they think.

I help people feel seen.
I help people feel like they belong.
I help people feel strong.
I help people feel proud of themselves again.

The weight loss, the muscle gain and the transformations are amazing.

But watching someone walk taller, smile more and believe in themselves again?

That’s the bit that never gets old.

One thing you’ll quickly learn about me... I hate running 😂

So when one of my clients ends up completing a half marathon, it’s safe to say I’m not trying to create mini versions of myself.

My job isn’t to tell people what their goals should be. My job is to help them achieve the goals that matter to them.

Whether that’s losing weight, getting stronger, running a half marathon, signing up for HYROX, or simply feeling more confident in their own skin.

Reading messages like this means the world because it shows that fitness doesn’t have to be miserable, restrictive or take over your life to get results.
