🌿 What is Widow Tree?

We’re a friendly, informal peer-support community for people who have experienced the loss of a partner.

There’s no pressure to tell your story or even to talk. Come for a cuppa, listen, chat, laugh, or simply spend some time with people who understand.

It’s not therapy and nobody is here to fix anything – it’s about connection and not having to navigate life after loss alone.

All our groups are free to attend, with no referral needed.

If you’re thinking about coming for the first time and feel nervous about walking through the door, send us a message beforehand. 💙

There’s no pressure to talk or share — just a friendly, relaxed space for a cuppa, a chat and some peer support. 💙

Could you help shape the future of Widow Tree?

In just over a year, Widow Tree has grown from an idea into a not-for-profit providing peer support after the loss of a partner, with groups across Oxfordshire and support from National Lottery and community funding.

But what matters most is the difference it can make:

“You all helped me keep going. I’ve come through the worst now… I’m moving away soon and, if there isn’t a branch there, I’ll try to start one.”

We’re now looking for a couple of new people to join our committee and help us decide what comes next – growing our groups, reaching more people and developing Widow Tree for the future.

💙 Around 4 meetings a year
💙 No previous committee experience needed
💙 You don’t need to have been widowed
💙 Bring your ideas, skills or simply a desire to make a difference

Our Thame Widow Tree group meets again this Friday, 14th August, 11am–12.30pm at The Black Horse, Thame.

There’s no pressure to talk, no need to book and no expectation to be anything other than yourself. Just a relaxed, friendly space with people who understand.

Coming for the first time can feel daunting, so if you’re nervous about walking in alone, please message me beforehand – I’m always happy to meet you for a quick coffee first. 💙

This Thursday, we’re looking forward to welcoming you to our Radley Widow Tree group.

**Friday evening saw Widow Tree's very first Summer Social at The Six Bells, Thame. 💙**

What a lovely evening it was, filled with conversation, new connections and the comfort of being with people who truly understand.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and made the evening so special. Your warmth, kindness and support for one another are what Widow Tree is all about.

A special thank you to **The Six Bells** for the delicious food and for helping make the evening such a welcoming one.

To those who wanted to come but couldn't make it this time, we hope to see you at another event or one of our regular support groups soon.

Our next **Thame support group** is on **Friday 14th August**, and whether you've been before or are thinking of coming for the first time, you'll always receive a warm welcome.

🌿 Widow Tree – July Update 🌿

July can be a month of sunshine on the outside but mixed emotions on the inside. Holidays, family gatherings and special dates can make the absence of someone we love feel even greater.

If that's you, please remember... you are not alone.

Thank you to everyone who joined us during June, supported us at local events, donated, volunteered or simply shared our message. Every act of kindness helps us continue providing free peer support for widows and widowers across Oxfordshire.

We're also busy behind the scenes developing new resources, working on our next Red Robin book and continuing our journey towards becoming a registered charity so we can support even more bereaved families.
