Founded in 2003, Sporting Wessex FC is an ambitious and growing community football club. We currently operate two teams:

• Our First Team, who are currently challenging for promotion from the Hampshire Premier League following back-to-back promotions.
• Our Academy Team, who compete in the Southampton Saturday League and provide a pathway for young local players to develop and progress within the game.

As a club, we are committed to promoting local football and strengthening connections within our community. We believe that local businesses and grassroots sport can work together to create mutually beneficial partnerships.

Delighted to be able to announce, we’ve received confirmation we have been approved to play in Hants 1 next year.

Subject to confirmation at the Hampshire League AGM, we are absolutely delighted to announce that, for the first time in the club’s 23-year history, we have been promoted to the Hampshire Premier League Division One! 🎉⚽

This is a huge milestone for everyone connected with the club. A well earned reward for the hard work, commitment and dedication shown both on and off the pitch over many years.

We would like to thank our players, management, volunteers, sponsors and supporters who have all played a part in this incredible achievement.

A new challenge awaits, we can’t wait to represent the club at the next level.

📣 Management Team Update 📣

We’re delighted to officially confirm Greg Cooper as our Assistant Manager ahead of the new season.

Greg has already been carrying out the role behind the scenes, and his hard work, commitment and support for the squad have made him a key part of the setup. We’re pleased to now make it official.

We’re also excited to announce that last season’s captain Neil Abrahams, will be joining the management team as a Coach, bringing leadership and a vast level experience to the role.

We’re excited for what’s ahead and look forward to continuing to build both on and off the pitch.
