So including the gift aid this takes the total for this year's event to £2,158.50 and just over £16,500 since the event started. Once again thank you to everyone that was involved in making this such a successful event. Apologies for the delay in posting these letters.

Hi all. What a fantastic day we had on the 5th. A brilliant turnout for the Brain Dean Memorial Golf Challenge, 10 teams, 40 players and some nice weather! A big thank you to all the participants. The fight for the trophy was as intense as ever and it came down to the last hole, which it invariably does, where each player could score. The team in second place was Chris Law, Chris McNally, Paul Marshall and Calvin Sharp they amassed a very credible total of 93 points. Unfortunately for them they fell one short. The team of Tony Scally, Richard Oldroyd, Gary Enwright and Michael Bagnall won with a total of 94 points and were crowned the 2026 Brian Dean Memorial Golf Challenge winners!! Just to say that both teams very kindly donated their prize money back into the charity pot. Thank you very much!
In addition to the trophy we had a nearest the hole putting competition, the winner was Harrison Rourke, who actually holed a putt, congratulations! We also had nearest the pin prizes for the par 3 holes. The 4th was won by Paul Marshall, the 8th by Gary Enwright and the 12th by Tony Scally, well done to all.
A massive thank you to all my able assistants who without them the event would not have run as smoothly as it did. So thank you to my wife Susan Wray, Margaret Dean (Brian's wife), Jo Orrell and Adrian Wilkinson. A special shout out to Sam Polli who managed to sell £400 of raffle tickets a fantastic achievement!!
I must also give out a special mention to the prize donors we had 21 prizes donated, which is truly amazing. We managed to raise an incredible £2,011 which will be split between Macmillan Cancer Support and Yorkshire Cancer Research, including gift aid this takes the total to £2,158.50!!!!!
That brings the total money raised to just over £16,500!!
As I said on the day I am truly humbled by peoples overwhelming generosity. So a final thank you to all the players, the helpers, our raffle ticket sellers, our prize donors and anyone who bought a ticket or donated money. Without you this event would not be as successful as it is. I look forward to seeing you all in 2027!

Here's the raffle prize results. Just to point out the crossings out at the top are because my mate Chris was starting from the top when we actually start from the bottom up as the top prize was worth the most. I scratched the prize from the golf pro as it wasn't forthcoming.
Thank you to everyone who bought a ticket.

Hi everyone,
Just over 2 weeks to go to the event and we so far have 17 prizes for the winners of our raffle to be drawn on the evening of the golf day. There have been some very kind donations. We have booze, family steam train rides, paintballing tickets, hair vouchers and flower vouchers to mention just a few.
If any one would like to donate a prize, buy a ticket or sell some tickets on behalf of our charities, that would be great, please message me.
Regards
Steve
