Really looking forward to starting some new baby friendly Postnatal classes in January. I have been training Postnatal clients for 9 years and have seen so many beautiful friendships grow at our sessions.

Classes are small, friendly, safe, effective, non judgemental, social spaces. We have indoor and outdoor sessions available and all classes are suitable from 6-12 weeks (depending on type of delivery) & following the all clear from your gp to exercise.

There are different levels and adaptations to exercises across all classes to suit individual Postnatal needs. We work on core & pelvic floor rehab, posture, stretching & strengthening.

Please get in contact for further details and to book your taster class or to chat through any questions you have about diastasis recti, pelvic floor weakness, prolapse amongst other things.

Looking forward to meeting everyone in the new year.

I wanted to send out a bit of a reminder during the crazy hot weather

This may sound obvious but please make sure you drink water and more than you usually would. If you can it is a really good idea to put electrolytes in your water.

I spent yesterday playing with my nephews in the shade in the garden & indoors too and I forgot to drink enough water. I am fit & healthy and have never had an issue with heat in the past (I lived in Italy for 10 years) I felt absolutely fine all day but suddenly at the click of your fingers in the evening I wasn't fine.

Initially I felt really hot, nauseous, exhausted & very thirsty. Then I felt absolutely freezing cold, shivering, chattering teeth, dizzy confused, like something was crawling under my skin, everything hurt & I realised it was heat exhaustion.

It was really scary because I went from feeling absolutely fine to feeling so terrible that I was close to going to a&e. I had drunk water during the day (around 1.5l) but not nearly enough.

What I hadn't realised is that heat exhaustion if left untreated becomes heatstroke which is incredibly dangerous so I spent the whole night rehydrating with water and electrolytes and I feel so much better now, just really really knackered.

I had no idea how easy it was to go from feeling fine to properly awful nor that you could get heat exhaustion indoors too. Please just be aware that you may feel fine at the time but it is really important to stay cool, stay hydrated.

Water, electrolytes, cold water in hot water bottles, fans, cold water towels, cold showers/baths, blackout curtains/blinds, spray yourself/your kids with water and sit in front of a fan, ice packs, reduced intake/preferably no alcohol and there are lots of other methods too.

I'm not trying to scaremonger but I was so shocked with what happened.

Stay safe everyone 💙

I went for my cervical screening about 6 weeks ago. I was a bit nervous because I'd found my last smear test really painful. I told the nurse about this when I arrived and she suggested using a smaller speculum which massively helped.

My results were back in around 10 days & showed some abnormal cells (it's the 4th time this has happened with a couple of normal smears imbetween too) so I was referred to the colposcopy department at Orpington hospital.

They called me around 2 weeks after I'd received my results & everything was arranged. When I arrived this morning the receptionist was friendly, welcoming & very helpful. The team of 3 in the clinical room were incredible, 'the A-team' they were friendly, kind, considerate, respectful & professional. They made me feel at ease & I felt my anxiety drift away. The first speculum hurt a bit so they switched to a smaller one which was far more comfortable. I cannot thank them enough.

I got the results immediately this time, everything was normal so I didn't need a biopsy (I've had 3 and they were all quick & relatively pain free). I am so grateful for the all clear but also for the kindness & professionalism shown to me today.

Please if you have a cervix make sure you go to your cervical screening & any other related appointments after. It really could be life saving 💙

I made it out for 2 runs this week. I had my ankle properly strapped and took it at a really slow and gentle pace. It was sore, I felt a little unsteady at times and was very cautious but for my fibromyalgia I know that the quicker I can get back on it the better it will be so It is always a balance of very carefully weighing up the risks & benefits.

I feel so much better in myself as soon as I'm in nature. Everything in the woods is so bushy at the moment like it's reaching out to give you a huge hug. I saw a lot more insects today which made me happy though I did swallow a few! There were 3 beautiful horses, I will always miss the sheep & giant cows.

To anyone with Fibro I hope you have found something to ease your pain and to anyone with an injury I hope you heal and can get back out there soon.

I feel eternally grateful for the Petts Wood woods, you are magnificent & a wonder to behold!

If I'm being totally honest I really struggle with posting nice things that have been said, I guess it makes me feel uncomfortable, like I'm bragging when I should be being humble but I am trying to do things out of my comfort zone to raise awareness and to also grow as a person and stop hiding away and avoiding the things which make me anxious and stressed.

So here we go, I want to thank Ronnie so much for this review, I hugely care about what I do and I always do my absolute best to try and help each and every one of my students. We are all completely unique in our bodies and our minds and that is an amazingly beautiful thing. I keep my classes really small because for me being able to tailor a programme to suit the individual is massively important.

Ronnie is an incredible person who has worked so hard so the credit is definitely not just down to me, she is a true inspiration to us all. To see what she has achieved on her journey is an amazing thing. I feel so thankful that Pilates has made the biggest difference to her life 🤍

I decided when I started posting on here that I was going to share the bad and the good because I believe it's important for people to see that our lives are often far from perfect and that it is OK to not be OK.

This week is going to be about taking things a bit more gently and trying to be kinder to myself and work some more on self-compassion, I think it's something so many people struggle with. It's been a pretty tough time and my body and my mind are feeling it. I am going to run but I'm going to drop the distance and the speed this week and just make sure I'm still out there. I'm also going to take time to walk in the woods and soak up their beauty.

A lot of my pains came back on Saturday, maybe I was pushing too hard or maybe it's from stress or a combination of the 2. I am a huge advocate of listening to your own body, noone else knows it better. I know I need to keep my exercise up but it's going to be focused on gentle recovery and Pilates will stretch out my aches and pains and let me focus my attention back on my core and body awareness and Pole will be my time to let all my stress out.

Exercise might be the last thing you want to do when you are feeling down but getting out even for a walk will help. To anyone else having a hard time, be kind to yourself & try to have self-compassion because you are truly loved. I'm looking forward to spending time with so many good people this week and letting the laughter back in.
