Why do a photoshoot?

It’s a way to give yourself a target to work towards and often with a time sensitive deadline.

It means you move with intent and focus with a goal in mind.

It’s a brilliant way to commemorate the end of a fat loss journey and give yourself an experience you won’t forget.

Why do a photoshoot?

It's a way to give yourself a target to work towards and often with a time sensitive deadline.

It means you move with intent and focus with a goal in mind.

It can be a little easier to get into shape when you go all in.

You can control all the variables and just tick the boxes day in day out to achieve your result in a swift and efficient manner.

However, a lot of us live lives filled with a busy schedule and a number of socials week in week out.

Learning to achieve fitness results whilst navigating everyday life is a challenge in itself but one if you're able to accomplish, you'll be able to stay in shape throughout your life no matter what gets thrown at you.

This is what it's all about!

Finding exercise that you enjoy doing and continuing to do it to reap the rewards.

It's all about celebrating what your body can do!

If you're not happy doing a specific type of exercise, the likelihood is that you won't remain consistent doing it.

And consistency is a key factor in getting results.

Even when you feel a bit tired and can easily chose to skip exercising, the enjoyment and love that grows keeps you going back for more!

ONLINE CLIENT PROGRESS

Sohil is a busy professional who had tried time and time again to lose weight and felt like he was dieting constantly.

He had been working out for about a year and had made some progress on his own having lost about 4-5kg before approaching me.

He was struggling to remain consistent. He would be disciplined during the weekdays but faced nutritional challenges on the weekends and found himself yo-yo dieting.

With a few tips, he was able to knock off a couple of kgs more of fat, but realised he would benefit from the accountability and a structured plan to help him get past his plateau.

That's when he decided to go all in and make a change!

Fast forward a few months and he has now lost an additional 6.1kg taking his total fat loss to about 12kg!

We created a plan that worked around his busy work life and took the fat loss at a safe rate that didn't bring on his usual migraines when dieting.

He began to really enjoy going to the gym again!

Sohil isn't finished with his journey just yet but here's some appreciation for how far he's come!

We know that exercise is good for us.

But what are the underlying benefits to our health and wellness?

It's so easy to get used to the feeling of being tired and fatigued all the time with no energy.

My client was able to learn how to effectively lose fat and build muscle by looking at the bigger picture of his fitness journey.

Weight loss and in particular fat loss can be easy to understand and implement if you take the time to learn about how exercise and nutrition work together.

What many people do is slash calories far too low and although this will result in weight loss, this can come from both fat as well as lean muscle mass.

Once they've done this and revert back to a higher caloric intake, they tend to put the weight back on and sometimes even more, resulting in a constant cycle of yo-yo dieting.

Years of habits may have got you to the stage of being overweight and so you need to invest a good amount of time to unlearn those habits and build new ones to cultivate a new identity and lifestyle.

You need someone to objectively look at your lifestyle and fitness journey to aid you in safely losing weight without the rebounding effect.

Why?

Why do you want to turn your life around?

Why do you want to change your lifestyle?

Why do you want to change the way your body looks?

What drives you?

Do you want to be able to keep up with your kids as they grow up?

Do you want to be there in your best way at that special occasion?

Do you want to rid yourself on the reliance of medications that can be controlled with exercise and diet?

You need to have a strong underlying reason for making a big a change in your life.

It needs to be strong enough to keep you going through the highs and the lows.

Motivation will only get you so far but if you want to reverse where years of existing habits have got you, you need to dig deeper.

"A calorie is a calorie.. Right?"

In its truest form, yes.

A calorie is a unit of energy, just like a mile is a unit of distance and a kilogram is a unit of weight.

It doesn't matter if you walk a mile or run a mile, it's still a mile.

It doesn't matter if you have a kilogram of lead or a kilogram of feathers, they still weigh a kilogram.

So yes, a calorie is a calorie no matter where the source.

However..

What does make a difference is the source you get these calories from.

Proteins, carbohydrates and fats all have their place and benefits. Finding the right balance will help you optimise your results in your fitness journey.

Nutrition is such an important part of the overall fitness journey, yet so many people overlook this aspect.

Online Client Results

My client came to me a few months prior to his wedding and wanted to lose some weight for his big day.

He was able to drop 8.4kg, whilst getting stronger and fitter overall!

He played sports regularly and had tried different ways to drop a few kilos in the past with no real success.

Working a 9-5 desk job left him with a pretty sedentary lifestyle.

We were able to work together to put a plan in place consisting of a well-balanced resistance training and cardiovascular exercise plan that suited his lifestyle.

This was done with very limited equipment - no gym membership, just a set of dumbbells, resistance bands and a yoga ball. We were able to make his home workouts fun and enjoyable where he could still progress.

In addition to this, the education provided on a nutritional front allowed him to make better decisions day-to-day that aligned with his goals, with flexibility that helped navigate through many socials and a stag-do abroad, without derailing his progress.

It was great to see him take control of his life and try to make better decisions to create an overall healthier way of living.

All of this through online coaching.

Energy Balance

Understanding energy balance in relation to your weight management goals is important to say the least.

We get energy in the form of calories we intake from food and drink.

A calorie is simply a unit of energy and is defined as the amount of heat required to raise the temperature of a kilogram of water by 1 degrees Celsius.

Consistently consuming less calories than you are expending will create a calorie deficit which will illicit weight loss.

Consistently consuming an equal amount of calories to that which you are expending will create an energy equilibrium which will result in maintenance of your weight.

Consistently consuming more calories than you are expending will create a calorie surplus which will make you gain weight.
