Valentines Day 🤢
Any occasion shoving romance and idealistic versions of life and relationships down your throat can be a gut punch when you’re navigating your own, possibly unplanned, journey.
I’m not against it, of course, and if you are celebrating today I send you lots and lots of love for a very happy celebration ❤️
But if it’s hard…..I see you.
I’ve been there.
If this is where you find yourself this morning, please know that you are not alone with these feelings. Please also know that these feelings WILL march on.
❤️ Practice some self care - a big bubbly bath, a lovely bunch of flowers (exactly the ones YOU like!) your favourite chocolate, a warm cup of tea, have your nails done. Whatever self care means and looks like for you
❤️Connect with others - an old friend, a new friend, a trusted friend, a gym buddy, the kids, a pet. Spend time remembering there are so many wonderful and worthy relationships that don’t need to be called romantic
❤️Get some exercise - even a brisk walk will make all the difference. Get outside, go to the gym. Move your body
And always, always, always (I can’t stress this enough) seek help if you need it ❤️
