A big thank you to everyone who attended the Whissendine Sports & Community Club AGM this week and to all the volunteers, supporters, user groups and local residents who continue to make the club such a valued part of village life.
Over the past year the club has been busier than ever, hosting a wide range of regular activities including table tennis, football coaching, rugby, Brownies, holiday clubs and community groups, alongside private celebrations, comedy nights, the Feast Week Fete, classic car show and many other events.
It’s fantastic to see increasing use of the club by both existing groups and new organisations, with even more events already planned for the coming year including youth activities, race nights and further community events.
We’re also continuing to invest in the club and its future, with ongoing maintenance and improvements supported by volunteers, local donations and grant funding. We’re delighted to welcome Roxanna Glover to the committee as our new Treasurer and would also encourage anyone interested in supporting the club’s future to consider getting involved — new committee members and volunteers are always welcome.
The committee is actively exploring opportunities to strengthen the club’s long-term future and develop facilities that can support even more activities for the community in years to come.
