Our BAFA squad travelled back to sunny Nottingham for the first cross-conference gameday of the season

Jags started with a strong team performance to secure the first win of the day vs a growing Corsairs team.

Next up was the Sheffield Giants in a well-contested and enjoyable game all round. Jags opened the scoring with a safety, and after big plays by both teams, Jags sealed the win with a pick-six.

After a break to rest/melt in the sun, Jags then took on the Longhorns Black, who set the tone early with a TD on their first play. Longhorns continued the fast start, and despite some bright moments from the Jags, it wasn’t enough to get back into it, leading to the Jags first loss of the season.

Offensive MVP goes to veteran Jags Receiver Ben Phelan, who took a break from OFL QB duties to remind his teammates of his many talents, not only hauling in a trio of TDs, but providing a solid pair of hands and always being good for a run after the catch (who needs knees right?)

Talking of knees, Coach, Captain, and all-round threat Tyler Sheil found himself busy on both sides of the ball, leading the Defence with 19 tackles, 5 PBUs, and 6 INTs on the day, picking up our Defensive MVP for the second week in a row.

Jags return to BAFA action in Lowestoft/somewhere near there in a few weeks time.

This Saturday both teams are headed to for Gameday 3!

With Bombers, Saints, and a double Titans match up on the cards, the Jags are going out looking for results as we rapidly head towards the middle of the regular season.

Jags mark their debut BAFA gameday in Nottingham with 2 close-fought wins.

A nail-biter vs the Nottingham Bears came down to a final 2-point conversion stop in favour of the Jags. A rematch vs last week’s OFL foes Leicester Huntsmen was a cagey affair where neither team could pull ahead, until a full pitch rushing TD put the Jags on top going into the final minute (just Darius things™) before the Defence stood strong and sealed the result with their 3rd pick of the game.

It’s a proud moment for the club to have teams playing in multiple leagues, and every member of the team balled out yesterday.

Offensive MVP goes to Richard Hayne, who made his first full gameday appearance at QB, looking after the ball and remaining calm under pressure while leading the Offense.

Defensive MVP goes to Tyler Sheil, who was everywhere on the field and led the team in Tackles and INTs.

Our next action is back at OFL on 9th May before returning to BAFA again on 17th May in Coventry.

Noah, once again showing some of the silkiest moves for Gold Offense with ball in hand.

V, a safe pair of hands whether it’s making punishingly fast tackles or blocking passes against players twice her size.

Callum and his multiple grabs in the endzone throughout the day makes him the deserving MVP for Teal’s Offense.

Kirk racked up the most defensive stats throughout the day for Teal leading on tackles and PBU’s.
