Did you know the Titanic had a squash court?!

Yes, really. While crossing the Atlantic, passengers on the RMS Titanic could squeeze in a game on a full-size squash court on F Deck, complete with a viewing gallery for spectators.

It sat alongside a state-of-the-art gymnasium packed with cutting-edge fitness equipment, proving that even in 1912, people were serious about their squash.

Away from the paddock, he’s a keen squash player who has spoken often about how the sport helps his fitness, agility, and decision making.

The passion clearly runs in the family too. His father, world rally champion Carlos Sainz Sr, was a national squash champion in Spain at sixteen, long before becoming a motorsport legend.

They’re a family built on precision, power, and relentless drive, whether it is on four wheels or with a racquet in hand!

🏆 The Nottinghamshire Squash Open is back for 2026! 🏆

Who will be crowned the Nottinghamshire champions?! Join us at Nottingham Squash Rackets Club on Saturday 10th January 2026 for a full day of graded competitions. With separate tournaments for Adult Squash, Junior Squash, and Racketball, all played in MONRAD format (best of 3).

All levels are welcome and players will be graded based on their ratings where possible.
