We are deeply saddened at the news that a dear friend of the league passed away at the weekend. The EMWRFL would like to send condolences to Stephen Connor’s Family and Friends.
Stephen played a huge part in developing the Women’s game especially around his photography with newly promoted Chesterfield Women FC.
Words from our chairman…
I first came across Stephen when Chesterfield, started playing against Teams in the DGLL, this was a few years back when Chesterfield were in the County League, even then his enthusiasm for Women’s game was at the front of his mind , and how best he could promote the team of Ladies and girls with video/photos.
He impressed me with his professional attitude, and it was not long before I asked him to help out in taking the East Midlands Women’s leagues photos for our cup Finals, as always Stephen was always first at the ground waiting for us to show up, this shows just how much he was determined to impress with a run through of what photo shots we would like on the day.
Stephen loved the women’s game and people who met him came away with how inspirational he was, he will be sadly missed by all of the Managers, players, league committee members and especially Chesterfield Women FC.
Rest In Peace Stephen gone but not forgotten.
